I don't have a bunch of Carvin stuff, but I do like it, a lot!
Here's my V3 combo running through a V3 cabinet with Celestion G12T-75's with heavy riffs, mounds damn good. I change between channel 1&2 here. Channel 1 is chunky and less distorted, channel too is more creamy and lots of distortion. 2:00 is when I switch from 1 to 2
With Tubescreamer through bothe v3 & Vai legacy Carvin cabs
My Carvin 3/4 stack, V30's in the combo & G12T-75's in the cab
My built from scratch for me Carvin DC727 Seven String
Mahogany neck through body tung oil finished Birdseye maple fret board super jumbo frets abalone dot inlays sperzel locking tuners abalone Carvin logo, mahogany body, hand picked quilted maple top, headstock matched(stain & quilt top), deep triple step blue stain burst, active/passive electronics, string saver saddles, strap locks
Vai Legacy Cabinet, tons of bottom end chunk, very tight and focused. V30's
