Cool man, I'll check those out! I didn't know you were building a rackvchizzle":3629bkk9 said:I'd make your own cables. I like the Canare cable alot, GS-6 is the "normal" size. GS-4 is the mini cable. I've been using the GS-6 for a couple years now. Just got some GS-4 today to wire most of my rack, so not sure if it sounds much different at all. I think they are 18 and 22 gauge respectively.
I always get the 6 here: http://www.fullcompass.com/product/340942.html
-local to me and cheaper if you buy over 50 feet.
The 4, I got here: http://www.redco.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?Search=Yes
-great service, got here in 2 days.
Have always used Switchcraft jacks(280, 226) cause their reliable.
I meant to buy some Mogami to compare the 2 and see if I could hear a difference but forgot. Both are usually highly recommended anyway though when it comes to making your own cables. The Canare is really flexible and easy to work with, not sure on the Mogami.
EDIT:
Just a side note, with either of these cables, make sure that black PVC coating is trimmed back and none touches your + tip wire...will cause shorting. See here: http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=507
If its stripped like the picture shows, you won't have issues.
Yeah, it's a tough decision. I'll prolly end up with something mid priced.rsm":45qt16ir said:J.B.":45qt16ir said:Damn!!! That's expensive!!! What about this model?

I'm using this, http://www.furmansound.com/product.php?div=01&id=PL-PLUS_II
but it doesn't provide the voltage regulator which I saw in your requirements?
I didn't see the PS-Pro II listed on the Furman site, so I don't know its specs? The better it protects your rack, the more it costs. So you have to balance that with the value of your other rack gear. Is a $200 unit enough to protect your Axe-Fx, or do you need a $800 unit to save your $2000 Ultra, etc. its a trade off. I'm in that dilemma now over a rack multi-effect unit: price vs features!
I've used some rack stuff ever since I got the GCX/GCP to do all my switching. I wanted to get away from 2 heads live. 2/50/2, rack mounted pedals, GCX/Ground control pro, Line 6 ModPro, and Lexicon MX-200(only use one presetJ.B.":3eo14amm said:Cool man, I'll check those out! - verb/delay on cleans and leads). X2 XDR rack wireless. The Furman PL Plus series II has done fine for me. Only one time did I have lower than average power(113V) in all the places I've played that affected my tone much. This is the one alot of guys use for voltage regulators:
http://www.furmansound.com/product.php? ... d=AR-15_II
I couldn't really justify the cost, since PL+ has done fine for me. If I were touring and playing somewhere new everyday, I'd spring for it. I'd love to get together sometime and check out the Axe and have a few drinks or whatever. I want to get oneIt would take the place of the line6 and lexicon and do about 100x more...and probably alot better
