Hi all, I've been lurking here a while and decided I could no longer stand it not having one, so I ordered mine last night with the T/D and GnR modules :) I've been playing a vintage Fender Deluxe non-reverb lately and while I love the tone to death, it just doesn't do enough for me, being somewhat of a one trick pony. I'm getting more back into higher gain sounds so I figured I would jump straight in to the GnR mod since it seems to get universal love here. The only drawback seems to be the line level effects loop which will render some of my beloved pedals unusable, but I figure it's better to get great tone from your amp first and foremost.

Can't wait, can't wait!!! 3 weeks and I'm gonna be lovin it!!! I've got a Tom Anderson HSH hollow drop top classic to pair it with and I think the combination is going to be unreal.

Welcome. Best choice you ever made! :D

In time, you'll come to realize that the parallell line level effects loop is way, WAY better than a regular old pedal level loop. It just keeps your tone incredibly pure.

Soon.....oh soo soon.... Gotta split myself up with my Mark IV tho, Love/Hate relationship with it.

I have to say I've been tempted to either trade my M4 for a Mod50 or sell it outright and get a Mod50. I'm curious to hear the modular stuff with an integrated power section from Egnater VS. the M4/VHT setup.

I would try one before you sell the M4.They are different but both are insane!I would never sell the M4 :D

I'd try a Randall RT2/50 before I did that too. I'm really impressed with it man. And I've been a VHT 2/90/2 biggot for a long time!

The Mod50 power section and Randall / VHT power deal is different. I like both honestly.

Congrats and welcome to the club!

Selling my Mark IV was one of my best gear moves. I had it special ordered and sold it after about 5 years of ownership, so it was tough, but I honestly do not miss it. However, before I sold it, I bought a Mark IIC+ which I do regret selling. After owning the IIC+ there is no way I'd ever buy another Mark IV. Hard to tell alone, but side-by-side the differences are huge.

My M4 eats everything for lunch, though! I'm very satisfied with the tones I am getting. There is a reason there's so much gushing/lovefest being posted about these amps.

I thought about that, too, in the past. But, ultimately, I decided any sonic differences (which I probably wouldn't be able to notice unless they were side-by-side), either better or worse, were not worth losing two module slots over.

Plus, I'll bet a ten spot that Jeff is not going to let anyone down with the coming soon 1U power amp!

You've just hit on the two reasons I haven't made a move yet. I love having 4 modules and I want to try the Egnater power amp someday.

I need a newer pic. I've got things arranged differently now.

  :D

Welcome!

I have the mod50 and 2 M4's w/2 RT2/50's and a RM100 (being dual modded) for a 26 channel Amp :D .They all sound incredible. I am very impressed with the RM100 great tones and I seem to use it more than the mod50 but it issssssssssssssssss heavy if you have to move it.

You cant go wrong with anything Egnater!!!

Thanks all for the welcome! I ordered the head and I'm up in the air about what to do cab-wise. I have a vintage Fender 2x12 that I could use for the time being but I was thinking about hitting GC for an Eggy 1x12 or 4x12. I hate to carry a big cab to my band practices (2nd floor room in my drummer's house) but for playing live I think I want to go bigger. I might get a smaller cab and then scour craigslist for a super cheap Marshall 1960A as they pop up around me now and then.

TM212 Eggy cab. put a randall mic elim in it and switch out one speaker with a G12T75. it can be open or closed back and is perfect for a mod50.

I have a Marshall Mode 4 cab w/ V30s for sale if you are in the IL area.

But I'd also get a TM 212..and do what jlbaxe said...that's the winning combo imho!

Hit a small snagg...don't have what I need to do the GnR to your module. I believe the values will be in my mouser order tomorrow.
