I'm Jumping on the Kemper bandwagon tonight

anyone know if the modulation effects are cool?

I'm thinking it might actually cover me on a big portion of my effects needs

The FX are more than substantial to me....I only use what's on board, with the exception of a wah pedal up front.....and occasionally I use my SD-1 up front for some profiles.
 
I'm not using any outboard pedals at all. The fx in it are really good.
 
^^^^ I'm gonna profile my friends triaxis / 2:90
then and only then, once I have my lost rig, then I'll look for a tele profile....
 
Congrats, I would like to hear your opinion about it, I was sceptical between this and the axefx 2 which i own
 
it'll be a while, but I'll def give a review, and try to do clips if I can, I'm hoping it will cover 100% of my tone needs and all my basic effects needs only needing to add a couple of more wacky effects in the loop


Chubtone will be borrowing it and profiling some stuff for me
please do all with profiling with a tele please ;)

Hey, if Curt is going to be doing some profiling... I know those tones will be good. He knows his stuff. Been chatting with him since the Plexi Palace days. I think I bought my Mojave Peacemaker just after he got his! LOL
 
yep Chubtone turned me onto the peacemaker, which I'll never get rid of

I think I have had my Peacemaker for 8 years. In RT years that's like 3 lifetimes.

What's up Kurt? Haven't seen you around in a while. Did you ever find that exact EVH recipe?
 
so I want the Kemper power amp (that fits into the back of the Kemper) but it's gonna be like 2 months til it's even revealed....in the meantime, I'm thinking of getting the ehx magnum 44..... Just to hear through a cab without investing in an expensive power amp. Eventually I'll have to get a full range speaker to get the most out of it I guess. The you tube clips of Kemper going into the power section of any head or a matrix rack amp into a normal cab, sound absolutely killer.
 
just wanted to say I've tried it out a bit through an ehx 44 magnum into a marshall 1960bx w/ g12h-30's and it sounds really cool
cab sims off (I'm just looking for a portable rig that sounds real)
easily tops my old rack (triaxis / 2:90 g force)

I bought the 5150 and jtm45 from amp factory and they sound very cool

I'm sure when I have time to record direct it will be even more versatile

You bet I did Curt! I nailed it. Lock stock and barrel! Getting a good recorded version of it is key. Thats what I want to do with the Kemper. I want to profile it. I actually have it nailed with my Dave Friedman modded VariPlex(non-master with variac) and also the Friedman Brown Eye. NAILED NAILED NAILED! haha I am super content with it. Been that way for a year actually.

I am using the VariPlex through original Celestion Blackbacks. I also finished my Frankenstein copy with MotorCity 2nd Degree Blackbelt. That nailed it man! With the Brown Eye I am using 65watt Scumback Blackbacks. It sounds like a bigger/more modern version of the classic tone. Still retains the vintage thing!

I am going to be profiling my stuff in a studio. Might take me a couple of months; depending on how much I get charged... LOL..... but I am going to do it. I want to get 2-3 mics with good mic pre's, and through a good mixer to run back to the Kemper. I know a few people that can help.
