....I'm a hair away from buying a guitar on impulse........... the thing is I CAN'T! right now money is VERY tight and I can't.........

any impulse purchases stories of late?

Just today I was filling up my car, and when I went to pay for it, I just out of the blue grabbed a can of Red Bull, and said: FUCK IT!!! Drank it in 3 sips too.

Rock N Roll.

Yep,

I went into my local Long and McQuade two days ago after work to look around and kill some time. Long story short I picked up a Martin 0015M acoustic and fell in love with it. I'm going back there this afternoon to put the deposit down on it. I was not planning on another purchase, but I don't presently own a decent acoustic and it'll come in very handy for some gigs and my vacation in August.

That's the great thing about this forum right guys? You are not going to be judged for impulse purchases here thats for sure!

My last impulse purchase, I wound up returning for a refund, so that doesn't count :)

I walked into Elderly yesterday to look a guitar I have been drooling over for a year. I walked out with that one plus another one. :D

haha good!

which guitars?

Impulse purchases are the reason I don't go to guitar stores anymore.....

The owner of the local guitar shop let his Mesa dealership expire (small market/can't move enough high dollar heads) and was blowing the final products out the door to clear floor space. On Tuesday night he sent me an email giving me a heads up. On Wednesday morning I had a new amp.

I wasn't planning to get an Electra-Dyne... but at $950 for a brand new 27" combo I didn't refuse.

I've got an impulse purchase on the way....a new EBMM Steve Morse Y2D. Luckily, there is a return policy in effect so that I can send it back if I'm just not thrilled with it. Joeytpg....which guitar are you looking at?

Wow,...nice score!

I've been gasing HEAVILY for this:

Ibanez Artcore AF105 but went out of stock so the GAS "calmed down" thankfully, otherwise I would have gotten it by now.

But last night watching Teles video I fell in love with this 60th anniversary Thinline Semi Hollow Body, been having a hard time controlling myself. I haven't gotten it because of 2 things:

1) I REALLY want the Ibanez first and if I buy the Tele the Ibanez will have to hold a while which I don't want. I could really use a Hollowbody like the ibanez right now.

2) it's $1,800. If it were $800 like the other Thinlines I think I would have jumped already.

LP Studio 60's reissue.. Absolutely loved it while playing at the store (and when I walked in I had no intentions of purchasing a guitar)... after a few days with it, the honeymoon was over.

Make no mistake, it's a very high quality axe for the money, but I just didn't get along with it.

Yep................. :scared:

Bought a Made in Japan (1984) Boss CE-3 Chorus Ensemble, even if it's notorious for sounding metallic.

I haven't even been paid yet and I just bought a $30,000 car!!!!!
Okay okay it's going to be financed over 10 years, still it could have waited a bit....
I couldn't help myself, I lost my old rattlebox...and loved this new buggy's electric blue colour.

Speaking of electric blue......it's a cool song too. 80s-looking and has the reverby-snappy drums with 80s tinkly synth keytars, but sounds cool.

Almost all my purchases are impulse buys, or at the very least fueled by boredom

10? I wasn't even aware that they had finance plans that long... I know 6 year ones exist.

this forum is just gas enticing. it seriously is insane how badly it shows.

over the past week ive added about $6,000 to my list of wants and will have to choose only one when tax return season begins next year. a DAR FBM, a custom shop Robin Medley that i have been wanting for years and finally plan to go after, and a 7 string. jesus, its insane.

for anyone that pulls the trigger on the fly i understand why, but financially if you can handle the added stress then so beit - just dont live above your means because of it!
