impulse response users.. using fx send vs line out?

I've been trying to mess with impulses but I haven't found out how to get it to sound right. I just found out I've been running the plugin kind of wrong, been running boogex, but I haven't turned off all the amp controls in boogex like I'm supposed to.

Which method do you guys use, from the FX send of your amp or the line out? I guess the line out is post poweramp? Is it a big difference running it one vs the other?

I've used a DI box with my Powerball a few times and usually got a pretty decent tone.

I'm running Recabinet IRs via MellowMuse's IR1A Convolution loader as an insert in Pro Tools with my Boogie Mark III and PODfarm...getting some pretty killer results IMO (and a few others have agreed)...
