In 1991 AC/DC Malcolm and Angus used Mesa Boogie Studio preamps and Mesa 295 power amps

Bumping this because I was listening to AC/DC Live in the car today. Such a killer live album. Great tones.
Gave me nostalgia; I used to have a Simul 295 that I ran with my Mark IIC+ as a W/D/W using the TC G-System for effects. The rig was insanely heavy and too complex but man, it sounded amazing. I had 2 Mesa 4x12s and a Marshall 4x12.
I kind of wish I didn't sell the 295 but we were moving and, I was downsizing to the essentials. I will keep the IIC+ forever though.

Even though I enjoyed that live album when it came out, I can’t say I enjoy the tones now that much, compared to their Marshall’s.

ahh dammit.. spent a few days trying to tone match that with my Wiz MC1 or pricey Marshall plugins running through various cab and room IRs based on some research.. Should have just plugged in to a boogie..

I love the recordings I've heard with other artists playing Wizards, but the Youngs definitely sound best with old school Marshalls. The Donington/Mesa sound is great though
