A few years old but man alive has this guy ever turned himself around after his booze problems in the early 2000's. What a sick player. His playing does all the talking. That vibrato and ability to make 3 notes do more than what most guys do with 30. You hear him pick 2 notes and you know instantly who is playing. Probably in my top 5 players of all time and pushing hard for first spot overall. I can listen to him all day long.

Right on !

One of my all time faves.

So fluid and melodic and rarely uses his pinky when blazing.

Awesome. And the band mix was absolutely perfect. Just enough singer to know he's there, but no more.

lol yeah, fail on my part.. I was looking at gear and got excited..how can i move this thread

hey I'll take a Schenker clip in any section lol Dude is absolutely killing it and has been for quite some time. I've seen him 3 times over the last 7 years and each time was just absolutely incredible.

Nope. Never have or ever will forget how badass he is.

Opened for him a few years ago in Oakland, Ca. He didn't come out of his bus 'til set time, nor did he say shit to anybody. I tried to say hello, he barely acknowledged it, not even any eye contact. Good player though.

It was around 85', and I had a friend of mine make a copy on tape of a few songs that I liked from the then new Celtic Frost album 'To Mega Therion'. Little did I know that after the Frost tunes, UFO's album Phenomenon' was on the tape in its entirety. Rock Bottom, Crystal Light, Dr Dr, Oh My, Lipstick Traces, it all blew my mind. And the guitar was raw as fuck and fantastic. On much of this album, it's almost like the guitar is slightly flat or sharp with the rest of the band, but in a good way. What's weird is I asked the guy that gave me the tape who it was, and he didn't know. He had used an old memorex tape that he had gotten from who knows where. I soon found a buddy that was in the know and told me it was UFO. Been a fan of Schenker ever since. Can't believe this album was made in 1974. If you haven't listened to this Album, do yourself a favor and check it out. A crucial chapter in Rock Guitar 101 and every song on it is littered with fantastic licks and playing. One of my all time favorites!

So smooth....On and On is one of my favorite tunes ever.

How is it possible that he sounds so great with only those standard marshalls, a guitar, and a wah.. ? Oh yeah, talent.

One of my favorites and would probably toss away everything I know on guitar just to have that vibrato and phrasing.
