@Robostyle

You're right, I'm not a virologist. Neither are you so your objections are as weak as my support. But I trust the professionals. You don't.

And there we are.

I'm not making any claims either way, but there's no way in hell I trust "Professionals" in the medical industrial complex. If you think any of those people have your interests at heart and not money you are crazy bro.

Then who do you go to for medical help? (that's rhetorical).

I see my Dr. In case of something serious, I go for a second opinion. While I trust them, I also know they are human and miss stuff and make mistakes.

Who I DON'T trust is just about everyone with a youtube channel giving medical advice. And strangers who post on guitar boards. Not throwing any shade here - you shouldn't listen to me when it comes to medical advice either. Now, how to set up a Les Paul - that's some shit I know inside and out.

I have an appointment with my doctor in early october. Just a check up. He almost made me register as a new patient because I hadn't been there in over 5 years. I should say the receptionist was going to make me do the new patient thing. My doctor caught wind of it and said no, just make an appointment. Because he knows me. I trust him. Mostly.

The professionals who lied? Of course i don't.

Doctors are cheaper on average to buy than politicians and on air "talent". MSNOW (they changed their name after thoroughly disgracing their old name.....sounds familiar, huh?) has Ralph Maddow, the $30 Million Dollar Man as their Chief Liar. You could simply threaten a doctor's job and have them in your front pocket, no bribe or mega salary required. :dunno:

I don't know. Probably much longer than the time the CV19 took. But (there's always a but) there was never such a concerted world wide effort to make a vaccine before. Plus research into mRNA vaccines was already well underway. Trump's push to get the vaccine out as quick as it came was one of the few things I'll say he did well.

You're implying that just because it was quick, it was no good. That doesn't necessarily follow.
Wow, could you even type this with a straight face? You know the time frame. It's pretty easy to find and I guarantee you looked it up. However, I'll post it here anyway.

I'm not implying because it was quick it was no good, I'm flat out fucking saying it. What, was a magic time machine built to speed up long term efficacy and side-effects? Jesus.
I don't know who posted it, but they were right, your posts about reek of you knowing you were duped, but you're too smug (Smidiot) and narcissistic to admit it so you just double and triple down.
BOOST UP CLOWN BOY :hys: :hys: :hys: :hys: 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡

I know I've posted that vaccine timeline at least half-a-dozen times peppered throughout the random COVID threads. So it's not like it's being hidden from anyone and very easy to look up. Anyone who is saying they don't know the timeframe is being willfully ignorant.

Personally I think it was a pretty good feat of science do develop a vaccine so quickly. At the same time I think government/doctors should have been way more transparent with the actual truth. The stories should have read there's a vaccine available. Due to emergency status we do not know the full scope of effectiveness or long term side effects. Weigh your options and vulnerability against the information we have (aka: risk assessment) then make your decision on getting the vaccine or not. Instead we got the narrative of Safe and Effective. The vaccine will immediately stop COVD in it's tracks. You're a menace to society if you don't get the shot.

I think it was @Robostyle who said the thing about being too smug to admit to being duped. Personal opinion; it's highly likely there are a lot of people in that same boat trying to convince themselves they weren't lied to.

I don't think I'd call that science. More like pseudoscience and oppressive marketing.

The side that was presented to the public was definitely pseudoscience & marketing. There was some background science behind the scenes that was being built upon. I know mRNA vaccines were being studied, which was what the main COVID vaccines were based on. So being able to build on something that's just in the development stage and it not turn into a complete wash was a decent feat. That would be the actual science part.

As just stated, mRNA vaccines really haven't hit the large scale development to be studied/produced en masse. So to tell everyone hey look we whipped up this thing up lickety-split based on fully established methods and it's 100% safe & effective; that's the crap science & marketing part.

And it's my understanding that they were not being successful with mRNA vaccines up to that point and there were ZERO on the market. But they magically made it work in less than a year? Riiiggggghhhhhhhtttt.

I think a mRNA shingles vaccine was just starting to make it to market at that time, but not much else. The bulk was still in dev & testing.

COVID-19 vaccines were developed in under a year—clearing emergency use thresholds in less than 11 months—because of decades of prior foundational research into mRNA technology, unprecedented global funding, and overlapping clinical trial phases rather than skipping any safety steps. [1, 2, 3, 4]

## Decades of Prior Research

* mRNA Technology: Scientists studied messenger RNA (mRNA)—molecules that tell cells how to make harmless viral proteins—for over 20 years before the pandemic. [1]
* Previous Coronaviruses: Research from earlier outbreaks like [SARS in 2003 and MERS in 2012](https://www.cdc.gov/covid/vaccines/how-they-work.html) helped scientists understand how to target coronavirus spike proteins. [1, 3]
* Lipid Nanoparticles: Breakthroughs in using tiny fat bubbles to safely deliver mRNA into human cells were already engineered and tested in earlier trials. [5]

## Fast Genetic Sequencing

* Rapid Decoding: Chinese researchers mapped the genetic blueprint of SARS-CoV-2 and published it globally by January 11, 2020.
* Immediate Design: Because the genetic code was known instantly, scientists at companies like [Moderna](https://cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/52424.html) and [Pfizer-BioNTech](https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/history-disease-outbreaks-vaccine-timeline/covid-19) designed their vaccine candidates within days. [6, 7, 8]

## Massive Financial Investment

* Government and Private Backing: Programs like Operation Warp Speed and international donors pumped billions of dollars into vaccine development immediately. [1, 9]
* Pre-Built Manufacturing: Governments and companies funded and built large manufacturing facilities before clinical trials finished, saving months of waiting time. [6]

## Overlapping Clinical Trials and Rolling Reviews

* Concurrent Phases: Researchers ran Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 clinical trials partially overlapping in parallel instead of waiting sequentially for each phase to fully conclude. [4, 10]
* Rolling Regulatory Review: Regulatory agencies like the FDA reviewed safety and efficacy data continuously as it arrived from labs, rather than waiting for all trials to end. [11]
* High Volunteer Turnout: Tens of thousands of people worldwide volunteered for trials quickly because of the global health emergency. [1, 7]

Not one word of that indicates mRNA vaccines yields something that is stable and viable for mass production & use. It's just a long winded way of saying we're looking into it.

Over 50 vaccines were approved for Covid 19. How many are still on the market?

The most used vaccine for Covid 19 was Oxford AstraZeneca. It was barely used after 2021 because of health risks and being ineffective. Oxford AstraZeneca was taken off the market in 2024.

Since over 13.5 billion doses of Covid vaccines have been administered, we have sufficient evidence that they are highly safe and effective. Cheers.

No we don't. It takes anywhere from 10-30 years to see long-term health effects in a population. We haven't even hit the 10 year mark yet.
As far as effectiveness, that's highly debatable.
