Anything with good high gain amp selection or something that might have Gibson Murphy shop guitars.

Chuck Levin's Music Center on the Maryland side should have some Bogners, Friedmans, Diezels, and Fryettes. Looks like they have some "Murphy Lab" Gibsons, whatever that is. Probably your best bet.

Action Music in Falls Church VA usually has some older Marshall heads and cabs. Atomic Music in Maryland is a fun place with shit just everywhere and some of it is really cool, but you kinda never know what will be in there.

I second Cardinal's post. Those were my three go-tos when I lived there. GC at Seven Corners was good then too and the one in Rockville was really good. But it's been a long time.

Atomic Music in MD is a honey hole, you never know what he will have in there. Just shit everywhere and you can sift through it. Sometimes vintage amps of guitars, sometimes nothing good.

The Rockville MD guitar center is a more premium location but still a GC.

3 hr drive for me to chuck Levins.very nice store.Obviously this was a while ago as I went to vennemans music ctr down there too.

Thanks all. Chuck Levin's was nice. Lots of high end guitars and amps.

Yep all these. Action by FAR is my favorite. Incredible pedal collection too if that's your thing. Atomic can be fun for sure. I wandered in there once and came out with a Mojave Scorpion (mint) for $1500. There are four GC's; only two are worth checking out (Rockville and Fairfax). The other two in Alexandria and Falls Church are tier two and not worth your time.
