Hi Guys,

New to the forum so thanks in advance for checking out my question. I have put together a new rig but am REALLY struggling with the order things should go in. My gear is as follows:-

 TC Electronics Polytune
 Dunlop Cry Baby
 Boss CS-3 Compressor/Sustainer
 Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor
 Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer
 MXR Phase 90 (EVH version)
 Boss DC-2 Dimension C (Chorus)
 Boss DD-3 Digital Delay
 Boss RC-3 Loop Station
 ElectroHarmonix Nano LPB1 Boost
=> into a Marshall JCM 2000 – 60W TSL 602 2x12 combo

My influences are Hendrix, Guns, ,Clapton, Bonamassa, Led Zep – mainly blues or blues based rock.
I’d like to mainly use the Boost as a clean boost (i.e. I just want the same tone at a higher dB when I step on it for a solo.)

Anyway, I’ve pretty much figured-out that the delay, chorus & loop should go through the amp’s FX loop. However, the rest is up for grabs! I’d really appreciate any advice you guys out there can give me.

Thanks heaps

I would try this first....

+1 on the order , for your lead volume boost i'd put the EHX lpb1 in the loop,

in front of the amp the boost would add more volume on the clean channel normally (depending on headroom) but would just add more gain/girth and a bit of volume on the dirt channels, depends what you want really, if you have an EQ pedal, that also works well in the loop for tone shaping or indeed just for boosting volume

Thanks guys - appreciate it. One more q'n - assuming the EXH works best in the loop - is this the order that I should run the loop: -

 Boss DD-3 Digital Delay
 ElectroHarmonix Nano LPB1 Boost
 Boss DC-2 Dimension C (Chorus)
 Boss RC-3 Loop Station

Or should the order be something different?

I would do it this way.

Loop Station
LPB1
Dimension C
DD-3

that looks good to me, the loop being last as then you can loop parts with delay+chorus on it

:) There is really no "wrong" way .... it is just trying out stuff & see what works for you. Try them in the patterns mentioned above - Then switch a few around till you find what you like. ...... The order I suggested is just a good starting place. Who knows .... maybe you might find a other you like a lot better.

Yep, no "wrong" way, just general guidelines that people sometimes follow. I like your order Stephen, but I'd put the compressor first and the delay in the amp's loop. But that all depends on if he wants to loop his delays or delay his loops. ;)
