Incoming Bass Amp Question... did I make a good decision?

Gotta say, apart from wanting a tube head I don’t need anything more than my GK800RB. Thing is over 30 years old and it’s just on the money for me. They are still good buys on the used market. This and an SVT would be it for me.
Those two are my favourite bass amps brother.

Let's see now, shared instrument (bass), shared fave bass amps, shared star sign, shared love of Star Trek, shared country (before you moved), shared fave footy team...

Only conclusion must surely be that you're my alt.

Probably goes without saying but I feel the Ampeg's the best for rock and the GK for pretty much anything else that doesn't require overdrive.

My fave pairing based purely on listening back in the day was the GK with JBL bins. Sweetest live slap & pop sounds I've ever heard.

I know right! I have a very faint memory that you’re in, or were in Perth? That’s where I grew up (born in Sydney).

Na, Melbourne mate.

There is kinda a Perth connection 'though: My mum lived there for many years and I grew up in South Africa, Perth being the main city they emigrate to here.

Melbourne is where my Sister and my Mum ended up. Been there a few times now. It would be where I move to if I ever come back (which I want to do at least once a year..lol) But I look at prices of homes and realize I’d have to spend every bit of savings I have to get a place. I’ve gotten so used to a good sized property, basement, quiet neighborhood, here in GA, the thought of having to move into some small townhome, condo or 900 sq ft home with a yard not big enough to fit an XY GT in…well it can be disheartening.

Amen brother.

I've got no hope of ever being able to afford a property here unless something big miraculously happens music-wise someday.

I always enjoy visiting the Healesville sanctuary. I should just see if the Wombats could use a room-mate. That can’t be too much….

…but hey! what about those amazing bass amps!!

I'm not far from the sanctuary in that I'm near the base of the mountain.

I think they might have bass amps romping about in-the-wild up there.
