There was an old Friedman oversized 2x12 closed back non ported cabinet at a local guitar center that I’ve had my eyes on for a while. It had been sitting at the store unsold for almost a year and I tried my Marshall through it about 6 months ago and thought it sounded great - drew a small crowd standing at awe. It’s loaded with v30’s and in general looks well used which I love. I don’t think Friedman offers it anymore?

No pictures yet. Looks like a dirty Shirley designed cabinet but is 2x12 instead of what he offers now as a 1x12.

Next I plan to get some 1x12 cubes for the wet cabinets.

Yeah dude! The cabinet is no joke. There were some line 6 4x12 cabinets next to it on an adjacent wall and the friedman cab is all of the same size as they are minus a few inches. The friedman cab had the same good stuff my splawn cabinets had like solid feet, screw cradles, and metal handles. The only thing I think I want to do is change out the 8 ohm 1/4" jack for a neutrik locking 1/4" jack.

What's weird is that I always tested amps on the floor into this cabinet and everything that I plugged into it sounded great. I believe the V30's that are in this thing have been beaten to hell in someone's basement before being traded in. There's a lot to be said for well broken in V30s. I admit my splawn cabinets were sterile and too punchy/non musical largely because I was unable to really push the V30s enough to break them in well.
