This makes my GAS for Mesa power amps so much worse. I'm having difficulty deciding which way to go, though. The 2:90 has been at the top of my list forever, but the 2:100, Strategy 400/500s, and old Simul class amps are speaking to me as well. I just don't want to use a truck payment to retube it haha

IMO scrap the 2:90's and 2:100's and go with an older simul class,I just got a 400 for my Mako Mak and it's starting to come together. I like my 295 with the quad but that's about it.

Yeah, I was going to get a Strategy 400 to pair with my Axe Fx, but I can't seem to get a hold of the guy anymore. I also shudder at the possibility of paying a truck payment's worth of dough for a retube

I'm not sure about the 395's,besides bells and whistles,more tonal control.
Sometimes you can find them cheap,just avoid the sellers who say they are rare and think they are made of gold,the 400's are kinda rare,they didn't make many of those and 500's.What ever suits you I guess. I gig alot and some of the warehouse gigs I play have no PA so I likes it loud.

Yeah tubes for Mesa power amps get pricey,my 295 has 4xEL-34's and 4x6L6's plus 5 12AX7's
