Incredible Mesa Tones

The tones on this just are so crunchy and sweet . Angus lead tone on the title track is fuckin just wow .

Pretty sure that’s all Marshall in that track. They used Boogies on stage for a brief time in the 90s iirc.
They use Marshall’s on this entire album and tour. It does not sound Marshall to met all either as so one who listen to acdc constantly . Bruce Fairburn got them to use boogie quad cream for this album and tour . That’s why they have boogies on acdc live . They used what they did on the tour for the album . To match . No one ever believes me but it’s true . Very known to AC/DC freaks

I have owned a few Mesa that were suppose to be Marshallesque, but they all fell short when I compared them to my Marshalls.

Not saying Mesa aren't great amps.

Really? Never know that AC/DC used a Mesa Quad. Very interesting.

My 4 year old loves AC/DC and the song Who Made Who.

Boogies don't just do a scooped sound, they have a great midrange if you dial them in. Funny though because they may as well have used Marshalls if they have the same sound as always haha!

The Triple Crown and Badlander are both more "marshally" than the standard boogie tones, and I think both sound really good

But I don't think they are ever gonna out-marshall a marshall

I own a Mark IV and at times I'm surprised how much in common it has with a Marshall. It's not exactly the same, but a lot closer than people are aware of.

Definitely, I remember seeing a video years ago of someone getting the Brown Sound with a Rectifier and it sounded fantastic!

the live double CD is boogie Angus for sure.
razors edge studio version, i always though marshall, but it sure is different than most AC/DC albums.
interesting, never though about that. will listen closely next time!

(waiting for the "angus will always sound like angus no matter the gear")

Its wild people would even think about old Marshalls after playing say, a Mark III.....
Wipes the floor with all of them regardless of stripe imo

Not my experience at all. In fact just the opposite.

That is why I sold my Mesa Fleet. Built a Marshall Fleet.

I call bullshit:

Razor's Edge is a pretty uninspiring AC/DC album overall despite a switch in gear. Boring songs (apart from Thunderstruck) and really flat production.
