Hello,

I am looking to upgrade my stock tuners. I hit the trem bar and goodbye tuning. Which brand do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance.

I've had good luck with Hipshot and Gotoh. Have Sperzels as well but not my favorite by any means.

It probably has to do more with your nut then your tuners

Dude, that statement is a ball worth knocking out of the park...but I'll leave that there.....LOL

I have hipshot tuners that the guy before me put on my Mexi Charvel. Stays in tune beautifully. I rarely have to even touch the tuners on that sucker.

:D Trust me, it’s all in the nut. If it’s cut properly it’ll stay in tune

I've used a bunch of different locking tuners and all serve their purpose. For inline I have Fender (Schaller), Sperzel and my Anderson has lockers which I believe are made by Hipshot. They are my favorite.
But I agree with the above posts. Your tuning issues are more apt to be from an improperly cut nut and/or the strings hanging up in the tremolo.

I am a big fan of the staggered height Hipshots. I have moved away from locking trems and ruined at least a half a dozen nut blanks learning how to properly groove a nut. With fresh strings properly stretched my non locking guitars stay in tune remarkably well - ‘almost’ as well as my lone remaining Floyd equipped guitar.

I have the Gotoh locking units on three of mine and the Kluson Revolution F style locking on another. They all work great. The Klusons are the smoothest. I have a set of the hip shots going on my Charvel.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the responses. I had to look down for a minute and make my nut(s) were good :D !!!! Anyway, the nut is all good. It is like a traditional fender set up. Same kind of bridge with a trem arm. The Guitar is a Jackson Gus G. his signature candy apple red with the reverse head-stock.
