What guitar apps do you use?

As I've started to get a bit more serious I've downloaded some guitar related apps to my Android phone. Below is a summary alphabetically.

Curious what everyone else is using AND WHY? That would help me/us focus on the better ones and uninstall others.

-----------
Boss tuner - Free and easy

Chordify - I got this app originally because I was looking for something that could decipher chords by listening only. Requires Premium Sub to do that and I have not done that. It does play 'some' songs as it shows you the chords but I suspect the library is limited. Seemed to have a lot of songs I could care less about.

Fender - Got this for the tuner but I don't like it as much as other tuners. There may be some other features but I haven't spent time with it.

Guitar Fretboard - I use this almost every day. Sometimes I will open it and play around with different keys and modes - even if I'm not playing guitar. Guitar theory is still fairly new to me, and looking at this stuff repeatedly helps my brain absorb.

Guitar Scales and Chords - I started off with this one but it seems clunky so I don't go there but it does have a tuner, 'games' and riffs. But for example, Back n Black didn't appear correct to me?

Scales (smartChord) - have not messed with yet.

Shazam - not really a guitar app but it will find a song for you simply by listening, which could be good for learning something new.

Songsterr - this is a very basic tab app but what I like is that you can choose a tuning and it will pull up a list of songs in that tuning. Also great for learning new stuff.

Soundcorset - tuner and metronome. Seems like a great tuner and has cents as well. Looks like it has other features.

Tabs (Ultimate-Guitar) - not free or as robust as the online version and seems to a bit glitchy for some reason. Can't find tuner.

ToneX Control - have not used yet, requires ToneX Plug and possibly some other things. I have ToneX for PC but just software right now.

Tuner - (This is the Boss tuner mentioned above)

What 'should' I have?

Neural DSP is on my list

PS: I have regular tuners and headstock tuners I use mostly. I have yet to tune my guitar with an app.

i have ultimateguitar for quick tabs if i want to do a clip, other than that though just a metronome and voice record to save riffs

Thanks for the recs

I'm going to uninstall about half of mine to make room for others.

For example, on Guitar Scales and Chords I select my mode or scale, which key, and it pulls up my visual.

This app in particular helped me absorb or accelerate what @Techdeth has taught me so far.

Wait wait wait...tabit?! From like 2000? That shit still exists?!

I use it to program midi to this very day. I programmed the midi for the drums for this tune just today.

I just prefer it to lux and guitarpro and all the big "fancy" midi editors, which IMO are filled with extraneous garbage and not very functional

Holy shit, I don’t remember why I ever stopped using it. And I only remember it as a guitar app. It was a site with tabs, all online, no downloads. I had no idea it still existed.

I use UG and actually have done a fair amount tabbing for the site - enough to get me lifetime membership, Tonebridge if I ever want to jam/write quietly with headphones, which is almost best to never since I have a house. I’m still pretty old-school.

i dont think the site is still up, but the editor is so good i still use it :dunno:

Tuner:
DaTuner
Tuner-Pitched

Theory:
Guitar Chords
Guitar Scales

Metronome:
Soundbrenner
Metronome Beats

Brand:
The TC Toneprint app has been on my phone since forever, and I've used it. I just kicked my last TC Electronic pedal off my board though (Ironically after using the app to set it up how I wanted it).

Ukulele:
Ukulele Fretboard
Ukulele Tabs

I was once a contributor to Ukelele Tabs when they started up. I'm pretty sure my tab for Gojira's Flying Whales is still up there if you want to learn it on ukulele.

Tuner & Metronome

Honestly, I could stand to find something that lets me work on music to some degree when I’m at work.

Thanks for all the recommendations

1. What is your username over at UG and give me some sample tabs you've done (out of curiosity only)
2. I love Big Trouble too but why did you post that?

Curious what you mean by 'work on music'? As in edit your own, writing, mixing?

Imagine that?! 😝

I’m currently not doing anymore tabs for them, working for free to get declined by some 3rd grader, no thanks.
I’ve had far more excellent, accurate and complete TABS declined for various and absolutely BS reasons than hav been published… so fuck them!

Because I felt like it. It’s still a guitar page right?

Writing & arranging. I’ve always got something I’m working on. The nature of my job has me sitting around bored a lot, but I can’t have much more than my phone & some earbuds handy.
