What brand cables do you guys use and why? Personally I got with CBI for overall quality and reliability. Priced pretty well too.

Gepco X band with G&H plugs... I like low capacitance cables.

Spectraflex all day. So much we're hooked up with them. Many beers have spilt, many drunk ass people walking all over my pedalboard, much hell and wrath has been put on my cables.

Spectraflex for the win.

Mogami are my favourite brand. They've lasted very well and sound great too.

I used George L's since they came out, mogami here and there, but recently have been using lava cable-purples..all 3 are high end for sure.I can notice a bit of mid bump in the George l's compared to the mogami and lava.

Canare GS-6 with Neutrik ends. Good quality and in my price range. Some people say the Canare stuff sounds a little dark, but I think they're splitting hairs.

Used to use Monster Cables but i use Sommer Cables now.Great Quality and great price

Hmmm good question. I don't even know what mine are. Something I picked up at the local music store that looked like decent cables. I've had them for a few years and no issues and they get stomped on and beer spilt at gigs. I don't really notice any difference in cables but I've never A/B'd any.

Evidence Audio for instrument...Sirens for speaker. Also use Dimarzio for instrument... Planet waves for pedalboard. I built hundreds of feet of Canare GS6 cable with neutrik connectors a couple years back.... in my opinion, and with comparing with others... they are pretty dark. Well built cable and not bad by any means... just found them too dark for my liking. I still have the Canare's as backup.

Planet Waves American Stage for the longer runs and Mogami patch cables.

Hmmm, interesting. I have some old Monster Cable around. I might have to A/B it with the Canare when I get some time.

A couple of the killer ones I couldn't use: Evidence Audio Lyric HG - too stiff, van den Hul The Integration Hybrid - same deal, Cardas Golden Chord - microphonic, Vovox link protect A - curled up like crazy and the standard Mogami - meh.

I think I'll try some Dave F. recommended Belden's. Seems a little high in capacitance, but it may be cool.

That said though, recording wise, I like most of the above.

Monster, Planet Waves, Spectraflex, Belden. They all sound a little different. I want to get some Mogami soon.

Oh, and I just grabbed one of the $7 Reverb cables and its pretty decent.

I've been using Evidence Audio for 6-7 years now. A friend and the online forums turned me onto them and I'm glad I tried them. Love 'em! I run the Forte to my pedalboard, Monorail on the pedalboard and in my rack tray, Lyric HG to the rack, Melody in the rack as well, and the Siren's for speaker cables.

Bought a 500' spool of Belden decades ago. When a cable starts getting funny, I'll unspool 18' and just re-use the plugs. It's probably averaged out to ~$3 per cable over the years. Works for me.
