So I'm awaiting the arrival of BOTH these units into my life in the next, relatively 'short' while...
I see sooooooooooo much circle jerking as to the release date of the Axe-II on the FAS site, and hell, even a little bit o' bukkake here on the main thread... So it goes. Am I pumped? Hell yeah, for sure, I miss my Ultra, and there's a 2U gap in my rig where once existed this black box that not only did all my FX and did them amazingly well, but it also allowed me to play anew and play for hours unhindered by the usual higher volumes that 'come with'. It sucks.
So, there's also a fair bit of excitement (SLIGHT understatement, ahem) as to the Hagen. No shit Sherlock, but c'mon, we have a couple grainy videos with some lo-rez clips of this thing in some far from 'perfect' environments to truly get the gist of this new head. And man, there's excitement - gobs of excitement. I threw down, I'm in, I want. I am SO not the type to buy something like this without hearing it, but folks, c'mon, it sounds as though Diezel's gonna smack this one outta the park!! But here goes - questions... We get answers from those who've used it, played it, and experienced it. Date - we have Poppa on board giving us the play by play. What to expect - getting this info too. There's really no cloak and dagger approach with this new head. UNLIKE the cloak and dagger bidniz of the Axe-II (cough, ahem...).
What struck me as odd? I'm getting all the info I would like as to the Hagen - except for a true hi-fidelity clip as to what it's capable of doing. But the questions are getting answers. The Axe-II...?? Immense amounts of mystery and obfuscation, which TYPICALLY just fuels the fire, right...??
Well - outta these 2 items on my personal, immediate horizon, I'm more stoked on the Hagen than the Axe-II. Imagine that. I'm still a 'tooby' (LOL) even with the absolute ultimate in sim and emu and 'infinite possibility' gear coming from the Fractal camp.
