For those whiners in Rig Talk complaining about the OT area here is something they should be made aware of.
In Rig Talk the average posts for the number of topics is approx. 20.7 & it's declining.
In the OT area the average posts for the number of topics is 30.2 today.
If I were a business man owning a forum I'd be rooting for the OT forum & promoting it more so as my future money maker
as the OT area has more interesting & relevant today things going on than the same old rehash in the complaining Rig Talk forum.
Using common sense, which appears to be rare, there are many gear sites other than RT to join however, off topic forums can have a prolific & interesting unique set of individuals which can separate & lift a specific site above the others.
This is NOT to say music is not discussed anymore because it always SHOULD be but trying to silence the OT forum is counterproductive to the overall site's health & attraction to newcomers looking to express themselves & be heard. RT today, re the OT section, has been managed exceptionally well & we can see the place has NOT caught fire.
If you truly like RT + the guys who own & run it & you want it to thrive I strongly suggest you don't complain about the OT area publicly & ignore it if you must. Really, jumping in & having some fun may have you further enjoying yourselves. Just a thought.
