Just wanted to make a first post and say I'm glad to be here. Been a long time lurker haha

Sharing a picture of the crew minus my 2 Chan Rev G Triple Rec, a Mesa Traditional Slant 4x12 and a MF400 Slant 4x12.

Welcome! Love the chrome Rev F! Lots of evil tones lurking...

Very nice!

Since you seem to be set on the speakers that you like, How do the Marshall MF cabs sound compared to the Mesa Traditional's?

I like Greenbacks personally and the MF280 that I had was heavy as all hell but sounded great. Would prefer a more standard size 4X12 though.

Welcome to RT

Looks like you are well set. You will fit right in here

Ever own a Splawn amp or aspire to?

Thanks! MF cabs sound huge and have a big low end where as the Traditional cabs seem tighter and punchier. I like both and would play any of the ones I have. I play metal/hardcore stuff so greenbacks don't really cut it for me. I don't care for V30s on their own but love them mixed with the K100. The governors are also one of my favorite speakers are they're very similar to V30s but with out the high end shrill and they seem to have a thicker low end maybe?

I've owned a Splawn Nitro and loved the tone but didn't care for it in a band setting. It didn't really cut that well IMO but the tone was awesome. It blended very well with a Dual Rec or a 5150. Kyle ( Bad.Seed ) and I have played in bands together for over 10 years now and sometimes it's hard to hang with his mid heavy tones he goes for. Ended up selling the Nitro a while back but he has me interested in a Quickrod. I'm just not sure how it'd hang with me tuning to C* Standard.

That's where I hang. If you are buddies with Bad Seed then you're set as far as opinions on this. I have no where near the playing ability of him - and a lot of other guys on here. I will say I think the QR shines with lower tuning because the amp is tight and won't flub out on you. The frickin mids and low end of C tuning sound amazing to me thru this amp. I'm using with a Splawn 2x12 w Small Blocks Gear 2 OD 2 and a clean boost up front. I also like to run it simultaneously with my RectoVerb. Tone heaven for me. I think a lot of people complained that the Nitro had too much low end but I've never played one.

Either way...have fun here and welcome again :)

Yeah, unfortunately I'm friends with him haha. It makes sense when you put it that way honestly. I might have to entice him into letting me borrow his for a week and giving it a run through.
Check out our band if you like heavier stuff - He's on drums and I'm on guitar. Recorded with the Pittbull Classic, Engl Fireball, Single Rectifier ( I've since sold it ) and a 5152.
