This may have been covered previously, so sorry for that.

I want to use my iPad Air with the Apogee jam to get some practice in.
I tried the free version of Amplitude, not so great.

Which one is good? Experiences?
Also, GarageBand is on my iPad and I thought I could use models from there.
Have had a hard time getting things to work together.
The Jam seems to be working and the guitar is obviously fine...want to get some playing in while away from my home base.
Hope to use this when I can't be or am not at home.

Thanks in advance.

JamUp and BIAS; free version of Stompbox for FX, although the paid version is great. Been using this for about a year. PM with any questions man.

Thanks for the quick responses guys.
This REALLY helps.

Yea man, BIAS and Jam up can not be beat at this time for this application.

Hey Steiny have you got the new upgrade? I havent been on for a while but I saw there are some new updates and new packs???

Didn't even bother bro; I have so many apps and tones anymore there's just no need.

Grabbed BIAS and downloaded JamUpXT...working well.

Is there any of the in-app upgrades worth buying?
What about JamUp Pro? worth it?

I haven't tried the brand new expansion packs but I did by the metal sig pack with the Loomis/Ola/Merrow amps and pedals.

They are all cool however I made my own amp for free that I liked better.

I did find the noise gate useful and the overdrive is cool as well.

You don't really need anything per se because you can go to the Bias tone loud and download endless amounts free amps plus make your own and you get the basic pedals free anyway.

I'm not mad about that purchase by any means but I don't really use those amps much.

It's up to you I suppose on how much variety you want. I'd say the pedals are more useful than the amps.

There are also other companies that make pedals for iOS that are supposedly much better than Positive Grids and you can link them together with a 3rd party app.

Unfortunately I can't remember the names of these apps but Steiny was telling me about them, pm him and ask if your curious if he doesn't chime in on this.

Also for Jam up Pro. Same deal, up to you. If you want max variety cool but I didn't and wouldn't buy that one. If I'm not mistaken it's just more amps and pedals that I wouldn't use anyway.

I got the BIAS Insane expansion pack. LOVE the Uberschall and Laney GH50 models. Plus the new cabs are grrrreat too!

And now that I have the expansion, I can use the insane preamp with say the 68 Plexi :D :D :D. Good fun, and doesn't even sound bad!

Is that one of the newer packs????

Uberschall??!!?? That may be worth the price alone seeing how it is one of my favorite amps.

But in all honesty, is it even close to the real amp? Naturally I would assume not even close?

Please post your thoughts on that I am very very curious.

Also a note to all. What are you guys using for power?

I am using a 100w solid state PA for the power amp lol...It gets the job done but I want other options. Have really considered getting the .44 Magnum pedal. The portability for that rig would be amazing but I worry about the power and volume.

I am a 100w-120w kind of guy and I like to easily compete with drums. While my cheap old 100w power amp works, it is solid state and in all honesty hangs with a band for live practice, it barely hangs. I like to be able to crank that bitch and over power everything   JK I do not do that but having the ability to do so I do like vs. saying wow does this thing get any louder.

The free line 6 mobile pod or whatever it is called is really good too

It says you have to use the Sonic Port. Is that true or a sales tactic?

I have Apogee Jam

I'm not 100% sure but I think the app comes only with the Sonic Port.

As for the new expansion packs in BIAS...my friend tried the Laney GH50 and told me it was spot on same as the head he has. I don't know abt Uberschall, never played one live, but it sure sounds good enough for me :D ;).
