I need a quiet way to practice at home so I'm looking at things like the iRig or Apogee JAM. I'll be using it with my iPhone (don't own an iPad).
It seems like the iRig has some latency issues. I've seen some good reviews of the Apogee.
I won't be recording with it, just jamming at home. Suggestions?

Yup, get the Apogee. That thing works exactly like it's supposed to, and your ears will thank you for it. Don't even bother with the other one, it really kind of sucks.

the iRig 2 has definite latency issues, I've got it and hate it. The HD or PRO models might be better but I've heard nothing but good about the apogee.

I had the original iRig. It was a piece of shit that bordered on a scam.

I now have an Apogee Jam. Zero complaints. Works as advertised.

Fuck iRig.

Thanks guys. Is there a specific app. that goes with it?
