Is $1,200 too much for mint block letter 5150 w/ cab

Lol. A lot of hate for 5150 cabs. I think they are actually built well and sound great with better speakers.

I don't know...I had a 5150 cab that I gigged with for a year. By the end of it, the tolex was shot, the casters had been replaced, and the handles we're pretty shot, too. I replaced it with a Mesa cab that's been to about 20x more gigs over 7 years in and out of the same vehicles to the same clubs, and it's got possibly one or two places in the tolex and that's it. Maybe my 5150 cab wasn't a good example...

Don't validate these assholes with their gouging. Its going to start a trend, which apparantly has already begun.

There was a local craigslist crack-head selling a mint 5150 block letter head and cab for $1500 i think. I wanted to call him to "educate" him but decided otherwise...

Its tempting i know but don't add fuel to the fire

If it's the one on CL up here, I know the scoop.

He was going to sell it to a buddy of mine for $850. He hesitated, and the dude dumped it on CL.

He had it checked out by Kirk, and Kirk told him to list it at that price and let people talk him down. It is mint, but that is too much. $850 would be a good price for it.

Yeah, I offered him my red quilt top axis for trade and he said he couldnt do that. I got at least $1250 in that guitar

Yeah, I don't see him going for any more guitars. I'd just wait until another one pops up, or until he comes down in price a little (a lot).

Don't look too hard though. After hearing them again last night in our little 5150 shootout, I'm kinda GASing for one again. I miss mine.
