Is anybody else not excited for the Mark V

If I wanted the Mark sound, I would just buy a Quad preamp again. or a triaxis. (Both are quite formidable preamps)

I've never been THAT floored by the Mark I, III, or IV.

I have never played a IIC+ though.

I'm guessing the V will be pretty expensive, and I'm guessing they won't be as widely distributed as rectos.

I have a triaxis/2:90 on the way. We'll see what that does for any future mk v gas.

Did you score Kurts?? That was a stupid price if that is the one!

I am going to pass right now, very happy with what I have and just want to add a Plexi as I need to get off the over-compressed porch at some time and run with the dogs :D

I really love my IIC+.....very special amp. So in my mind the Mark V has one hell of a benchmark to live up to. If it truly sounds like the IIC+ I will be very interested.

Yep - that's the one. I've been on and off about getting a mk III or IV and when this came up at that stupid price I jumped on it.

I've been gassing hard for a budda sd45 or sd80 and, of course, an SD80 came up at a good price as soon as I sent cash for the tri/90.

I'm excited  And maybe well finally get a Mark series amp that will offer a killer clean, rhythm, and lead without compromising each other.

Im not at all. Never been a big fan of mesas, and the Mark 3 and 4's I have played have left me uninspired.

I'm excited for the V but I agree about the Quad/Triaxis. I'd add the Studio to that list too.

It's easy to get excited about all the features, but that means nothing unless it sounds good imo.

I'm happy with my IV and even use R2 now. :)

I will probably pick up the V later this year for a full evaluation, but I'm not jumping the gun and selling my IV...

FWIW, and IMHO, i don't think the Triaxis gets anywhere close to a IIC+ or even a IV tone.

Not exploring R2 more is my biggest regret about the IV. (Well, other than the fact I don't have one anymore.  )

I'm definitely curious about the V.

I have never owned or played a Mesa but am very curious about this amp. I need something with a clean channel, a crunch channel and a lead channel with the ability to bump the crunch and lead channels for solo's. I am hoping this will do the trick as i'm growing tired of searching for an amp that will.

Spent some time with the VM but it just didn't do it for me.

I'm interested but have no GAS whatsoever. I loved my Mark IV and would love to own another this year. I'm with Scott in trying something less compressed. The Splawn is forcing me to play differently then I am used to.

Here's to the Mark V living up to the hype. I hope so. I will buy another Mark IV short head if the used prices drop. I loved and miss mine. If prices drop then I will be able to afford to hang on to 2 amps at once.

Lots of Budda at TGP not moving, that place is a graveyard for selling right now.

You wont lose money, that is certain

If the V is mindblowing, I might sell my TA and 2:90 and buy the V. :)

I'm always excited for something new. Maybe it'll be a killer amp. I wasn't excited about the Marshall JVM and it is a breath of fresh air compared to what Marshall was producing.

I'm not going to shun it just b/c it's mesa or "mark"

i'd be excited, if I could afford one!

unfortunately, as maiden fan will concur, mesa's here are a mega rip off. A lot of the bands I like (3 doors down, ghost of gloria, hoobastank) have a killer modern rock tone which is mesaish, but there's hell no way im paying 1700 gbp (so 3400 dollarsish) for a dual rec head.

hell, i'd rather stick with my marshall dsl and spend that on a PRS!
