We so often discus the gear that we are lusting for... So I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone is actually happy with their gear..

After my recent hand injury, I have really stopped tho think about why I obsess over gear when I have nice gear. I've really been listening to my tone over the past few weeks at practice and have figured out that I am actually very happy with how I sound. I've settled on my Les Pauls and a PRS McCarty. I'm running my 5153 through a Mesa Recto 412 with a Boss NS-2, CH-1 and DD-3 in the loop. I get really great rock tone. Since I am limited to about two hours of playing time before my right index finger gives out, it's been nice to really to just enjoy actually being able to play when I can. Just a random thought I guess... So who is completely good with their gear?

yes... I have not had amp gas in years since getting these...

I'm really happy with my Fortin Marshall/Friedman Marshall/Langner Marshall setup. I change settings once in awhile, but they sound killer everytime I fire them up. Its amazing how different they are from each other. My main tonal differences come from the guitars/pickups.
Life is very good

Been very happy with my Kemper and Anderson setup for a long time now.

I recently took my Kemper off the road and went back to my trusty DSL setup with a new pedalboard I'm building. This rig has tone for days. Not as versatile as the Kemper but I'm pretty happy with the results I'm achieving.

I'm really happy with my gear. I found my tone a few years ago, and there's not much I really want aside from more amps and guitars of what I already have. Just a Gibson LPC through a stereo rig of Recto and Mark III Coliseum.

I'm really content with a fairly minimalistic set up. I may be a minority, but I really like my Framus Cobra through a Bogner 4X12. I feel it covers the cleans and brootz really well. I don't feel like it does a lower gain middy crunch exceptionally well though, so I have an XTC Red pedal to fill in the gap in that department. Works out extremely well with the Cobra's clean and brings the tonal diversity up to a whole 'nother level. Plenty of volume on tap. ISP decimator Pro Rack G to keep things suuuper tight and quite. MXR Carbon Copy in the loop does just what I need. I'm a Les Paul guy, too. Currently rock'n a Motor City custom in the bridge and stock 59 (for 2014 traditional) in the neck. Recently discovered I much prefer a wound G string. It's a bitch to bend, but I'll take it's inherent timbre over the standard G any day. Only thing I feel I'm lacking at this point is a refined set of skills and a good reverb pedal. I do get distracted easily by modded Marshalls though. Never pulled the trigger on one yet.

I am also extremely happy with my 5150III. I agree, just puts out a great rock tone and is very versatile. It just does everything well. I too run it through a Mesa 4x12. I've had this as my main set-up since 2007!

Besides the EVH, I occasionally use my '84 stock JCM800 w/ an SD-1 for a different flavor and recordings. For smaller gigs/stages I use the 5150III 50w w/ it's 2x12 and for home/late night practice I use a Line 6 Flextone III.

I have been perfectly happy with my amps and have focused more on acquiring and setting up my guitars over the past few years with pickup changes, PLEK jobs, etc.

I'm a Mesa and Gibson player, completely happy with my tone for sure!

Actually pretty damn happy with my FJA modded Mesa Dual recto thru the two Randall Lynch box 4x12's.
Covers all I need and then some. Great metal....great rock. Dont worry about cleans too much. ;)

Still want a Diezel (and one is in the works)

But overall? Yeah....this rig does it all and the dishes to boot.

I will add, though.. I would love to get an FJA Series/Parallel Effect loop mod. The only thing that really bugs me about the Cobra at this point is that if you want 100% wet effect, you have to have your loop pot pegged out but in the process of doing that, you hear a considerable volume drop when rotating past 12:00, which is where the volume peaks. With his mod, you still get the volume swell, but you wouldn't have any troubles sitting at 12:00 as you're 100% wet in any position with series mode engaged. At least, I think that's the nature of his mod if I'm not mistaken.

I am happy with my gear. Got a lot of good stuff, too much actually. I feel like some of it gets neglected, but I'm keeping it all or else I may end up buying more when my preferences change again.

I work 3rd shift and only play at home these days. I haven't heard any modelers I care for at any volume and my Mark III and 5150 are hilariously overpowered for my needs. I recently got a JVM1h, one of those little 1 watt Marshall heads that can drop to .1 watt. I can crank it up, even run it through a 4x12 on the low power setting with the master volume on 8 without waking anyone upstairs in the middle of the night. It's the perfect rig for my current situation.

For guitars, I mostly play through a Shred Les Paul Studio (essentially a chambered LP with a Floyd), Gibson SG Special Platinum, and Parker Fly Classic. I guess I have a preference for mahogany guitars with humbuckers.

I love all my gear, i can honestly say im very happy.

Yep, uber happy. But imagine for a moment that you were perfectly content in a relationship with your spouse but she said " I totally want you to bang me AND take some other ladies for a test drive and if you like them, let them move in. Be sure to look for the expensive flashy hookers with huge racks".

Yes please.

Nope..Haven't quite nailed it yet...close though...love my guitars though! need help getting my amps to sound the way Id like them too...oh well,,,happy for everyone else lol

Since I got this SLO I have found my dream tone. It can get all modded Marshall, and then tweak the EQ and I can get modern tones. I grabbed an '87 2205 that to me is great..better than any other stock Marshall I've had. It's all right there in the box..needs no boost. It's gonna be these two going forward once I sell this FJA modded Superbass...cabs have been important as the amps and now I have two vintage Marshall G12-65 cabs..all others are put up for sale. :D

Pretty happy. Been playing a Fortin Cali mod for several years now. Not sure what you call it, but it's got just about everything. Playing the same 58 reissue Les Paul for the last 14 years, along with an Eric Johnson Strat.

I did just buy a 5153 50 watt, and a Les Paul Traditional though. Not because I'm not happy, but as backups. My Les Paul needs refretted, and you never know when you're going to have a tube fail during a show or something. Haven't gotten the amp yet, looking forward to trying it out.

Still loving my amp that Dave F. modded. Not wanting anything else at all. If I have one area of annoyance, I'd love a different neck/fret wire for my Strat.

I totally love my set up, only a budget one but I couldn't be happier....jet city jca22H/jca20HV in a wet/dry rig. Gives me the exact tone I wanted
