Is anyone here into vintage/discontinued BOSS pedals?

Despite my entire pedalboard (tuner, SD-1, EQ, NS-2) being BOSS, I'm not a fan of most of their line of pedals, I've always found an alternative that I'd prefer or just don't fancy them much.

But some of the discontinued Boss pedals are really interesting, as I'm playing in a prog/psychedelic rock band currently, I'd really like to pick up some pedals and the discontinued Boss ones, such as the Slow Gear, Metalizer, Digital Dimension, Dimension C and the Dynamic Filter pedals, not all of them obviously but some of them are quite interesting.

Here's a complete list of Boss pedals through the years. http://www.bossarea.com/

Problem is; they cost about £150-300 each! That's absolutely ridiculous, does anyone know of a company that has cloned any of these or makes other, similarly weird effects (not EHX, I'm clued out about those). I don't know how much it would cost a custom builder to make one of these, but probably less than I'd find one for on Ebay.

Anyone? :D

i think line6 modelled some of them, not sure how close but some of those are definitely in the M9 for example

I'm using a Boss GT-3 multi pedal I've had since '98 and still love it. Although the volume pedal is finally wearing out. I have a new TU-2, LS-2, BF-3, and DD-3 that are serving me well and don't have any problem with them being "new". That being said, I plan to pick up an older BF-2 at some point to try out.

The Digital Metalizer pedal you have listed is easily the worst effects box I have ever owned.

I would like to pick up a MIJ BF-2 for the official LeTekro tone.

I've got an SD-1 I modded the living daylights out of. It sounds great and my amp wouldn't sound nearly as good without it.

I've also got a RV-3 on the way, the clips I see on youtube gave me wayyyy too much GAS to pass it up. Cost me a lot more than I'd like, but I'm excited to get it. I have an OC-2 somewhere buried in my house I need to find now that I think of it. Not really vintage stuff, but certainly discontinued stuff! :)

Fanboi alert!!

Nope.  Couldn't afford an ISP Decimator, MXR EQ or Tubescreamer at the time and I got the TU-2 thrown in when I bought a guitar.

I HATE a lot of Boss pedals, all of their distortion/OD pedals other than the SD-1, whatever the blues one is called and the DS-1.

I've heard it's a love it or hate it affair, I have no idea how it sounds, just sounded interesting from the description.

Then again, all Boss pedals sound amazing from their description and a lot of them sound wank.

I collect Boss HM-2s, due to my teenage obsession with Swedish death metal.

I currently have fourteen.

1. Why?!

2. Pics?  I've heard great things about the HM-2, shame the Metalzone and Metalcore were so shit.

BYOC has some of those cloned.
I have a BYOC slow gear. Its borderline worthless as an effect. It basically a really bad noise gate

I assumed it was basically a voume swell in a box, useful for weird/trippy shit?

EDIT: Just saw that they make a DIY tremolo, this I like the idea of alot, do/will they ship to the UK? It's only £45, and if it's good quallity I'll buy it, I'd rather buy a kit than buy a pedal, just the kinda mood I'm in lately.

I've got a MIJ CE2 and a MIJ SD1....both pedals flat out kill. Not really a fan of their flangers, phasers or other wacky/useless effects...

I'm just pickin on ghotiman's love for looT

The HM-2 sounds like a super crazy fuzz/distortion that's wayyyyyy over the top. It really only works for extremely niche. Bloodbath is a good example of this niche, and the HM-2 is all over their albums. The EQ on the pedal is crazy sensitive, too.

HF-2 = One of the best flangers out there. Period.

RV-3 = ABSOLUTELY necessary if you're playing ambient/post-rock/etc.

SD-1 MIJ = KILLER
