So far I know the guys at Access Analog ( hardware in the cloud, I always like to give these guys a mention because it is an incredible service) have partnered up with another studio for more hardware comps and are going to be dropping a mastering rig where you have access to really high mastering grade hardware chains for your finished tracks. That's incredible. Save yourself thousands to waste on other stuff.

Then there is this... Two Notes jumping in on the amp on the floor trend or modular amps by releasing these guys:

Lynch and Soldano working on something. Maybe it is related to the above or maybe Synergy. You can bet your ass George won't use it but he will demo the hell out of it and you will want to buy it no question.

No better time to be a musician than now that's for sure!

No, it won’t even sound close to the last NAMM ?

I think the grandiose NAMMs are a thing of the past -- the cost is tremendous for so many companies (big and small) already working on very tight margins to justify attending. Hell Friedman was talking recently that the cost was roughly $100K after leasing a spot, paying for set up, etc. And that doesn't consider that they lose a week of production as well.

I'd let Sweetwater burden the cost with their annual festival.

Was better 5 years ago ?

all i know is that i find it annoying companies bring products to NAMM that they arent remotely ready to be shipped to retailers

there is too much competition and too little consumer attention span for amp company X to say "look at this tremendous break through, we hope to have it in customers' hands by next spring" - yawn.... cool someone else will take my money before then,,,,

This has been my main frustration with it, I usually ignore product announcements, because release dates have ceased to have any meaning.

So many big players have pulled out… NAMM might be yet another victim of the digital age. I don’t know if these companies are playing it safe health-wise after the last couple years, or if they aren’t seeing the monetary benefit of a physical trade show anymore. You can more exposure through YouTube these days.

I think physical trade shows are going extinct. Hell, the world is going extinct. Why travel to the show when you can see everything on your phone etc? It was inevitable. We all look on Youtube for demos online immediately on new stuff etc. I have no worked on in ages myself and I sued to do them.

I've never been to NAMM but I'd imagine it'd cause the biggest migraine headache with everyone playing different instruments literally everywhere. It'd be like walking into GC on the busiest day times 10!

Though who knows maybe the different booths are somewhat isolated? But even listening/watching videos of interviews and people just speaking at NAMM, I hear a bunch of noise in the background.

The only thing I have interest in this year is the AmpX.

There's shit that was released LAST YEAR that isn't available yet. I had interest in a couple ESP's released, most aren't even on websites for pre-order yet!

I've been eyeing that gold LTD Mirage 87 since last year and it's not even available yet! I think it can be pre-ordered on SW though

I was eyeing that white neck-thru M-1000 with SS frets. That gold Mirage is nice looking too, as is the EC-1000T CTM in worn gold. ALL their new 1000 series guitars will have SS frets too!

SS frets are cool I suppose but for me, as long as the neck is comfortable I forget about the frets in 2 seconds lol. But yeah LTD has been killing it lately and they're all so beautiful guitars!

I have been to NAMM at least 20 times. We always have a blast. 3 beers in by noon on a Friday. Talk to the dudes that designed the gear. Booth performances from a bunch of great artist and most likely a free all star concert that night.

I bet NAMM back in the late 80s/early 90s was badass. I was still in elementary school but thats why I gained knowledge from all you old fucks ahahahha
