Not at all! I'm the one overthinking it. I own an Einstein, but was wondering if the Schmidt Class A design and overall voicing would somehow make for a different master volume experience. Thanks again.

well of course there are no differences in the quality of the volume pot hardware itself but as i understand it the amps work totally differently. the einstein has the main sound set before the poweramp, so the master volume mainly makes it louder (to speak in simple terms and not regarding speaker saturation etc.). the schmidt is built to produce the sound -also- in the power amp section (saturation etc). so cranking the power amp to max will alter the sound more (than the einstein). but that's what the schmidt is made for... as long is i am not totally wrong...

Channel 1 has a volumeknob and channel 2+3 have gain and volumeknobs.

3 volumeknobs for each channel but no mastervolume.

If you want to change your overallvolume you have to change all volumeknobs.

Its not so comfortible but its much better for dynamicsounds.

You will love the Schmidt but its a different amp from the Einstein and the poweramp will not only just make it louder but produce more saturation!

It might not have a global master volume but it definitely has individual master volumes for channels 2 and 3 and the position of the volume knob on channel 1 is (I assume) after the first triode stage just like the gain knob for channels 2 and 3. A master volume is just a pot acting as a variable voltage divider after the distorting stages and before the power amp, regardless of whether or not it includes the "master" moniker.
