Is there something that works better than the Digitech Drop for downtuning?

I’m looking for something to drop 3 half steps for a few songs, and preferably not have to get an additional guitar to dedicate to this low tuning. I tried the Drop pedal today, and while I was impressed with the fact that it had no detectable latency, it did darken the tone more than I was willing to accept. Is there anything better out there?

I have great results with the Whammy Ricochet. Handles down to A# pretty well. Any lower it smears notes a bit, but I like it a lot better than the Drop.

I love The Drop that I have. However, the farther down you go, the more you hear and feel the difference. Half step is pretty good. Full step and I start to feel and hear something. It does seem to get a touch darker so I get the mud comment above. Can some EQ help? Maybe. But it does feel different.

Agree. I only use it for 1/2 step down. Works great for that. Any lower sounds weird.

Yep. Most of the stuff I play never goes farther than that so it's not an issue. Much past a whole step and it introduces digital artifacts that really make it not worth using.
