Decent amp. You could find a Mk III red stripe for less than $1,000, and a can get a Thiele EVM cabinet built or 2nd hand for sub $600 easy. If the cosmetics and originality mean that much to you, then maybe it's worth it? Personally, I wouldn't even entertain the purchase even if I had the money. I don't think the seller will get what he's asking, that's for sure.

That's 2C+ money he's asking for. GC used is usually littered with Mark III's for 800-1000.

Overpriced for sure, but Way better than "decent amp" Killer amps but with shared eq's and switching limitations that are much better on the Mark IV and V.

Great amp, terrible price. I don't care if it was hardwood cut from the trees of Olympus by Zues, no Mark III and 1X12 is worth close to $3200.

Great amp for sure. But your paying for the prettiness.
I just scored a Mark III for $750 on Guitar Center used area to give you the same idea the others above mentioned.

What they said ^^^^^. And you can usually find a Mesa EV Thiele for 249-399 at GC.com. Unless someone really wants hardwood and wicker...lol

For some reason that made me burst out laughing.

Seriously Rez? Of course it's a good amp. It's an awesome amp, but is worth under $1000 for a loaded head.

Reza + CL: - $1000.00 = Mesa MkIII Blue Stripe / V30 cab @ YouTube Demo =

Not even remotely a good deal. Man when it comes to Mesa Boogie, I've learned over the years that there are basically three things I like. First, unless you want a Mark V or JP2 for the versatility, etc... the best damned Mesa Boogie sounds come out of the Roadster, Lonestar, and Express 5:50. I tell you, I have sat the 5:50 down next to so many other Boogies, and as much as I wanted to stay skeptical because of the price difference, that damned amp delivers the tone. The Roadster has that one channel with the British mode that kills, and you can live on that one mode alone. Then the Lonestar is like a different island.

So when I see old Boogies going for $3,000, I see the same old-ass amps like the scraped up Fenders with $10,000 price tags at Guitar Center. I could care less about spending the bucks on an amp that will probably need new caps or some other maintenance. I saw a better condition Mark III with flame wood cab that looked new and still had the tags for $1200 just about two years ago, so I don't know where he gets his price. Plus he puts "NO LOWBALL OFFERS" in big letters as if he's barely going to negotiate the price. Unless you're rich enough to wipe your ass with money, fuck that deal.
