Is this board scalloped or not?

Does it have stainless steel frets? Although it may feel comfortable, it looks like an amateur job.

Yes stainless frets. Tom said he would check if he had any NOS necks like it. How cool is that?

that is awesome ...... if you like the guitar I think doing a full scallop might be a great option. Piss easy to do and you keep an awesome guitar (assuming it is awesome)

I paid 1539 for it with shipping and it has a few nicks besides the board. It was a good deal. I planned to have it refinished in another color eventually but it's up in the air now. I should know more tomorrow.

Anderson is the best. I know a new neck is around $700.00 I had one swapped years ago. Even for that on top of what you paid its a good deal if everything else on the guitar is correct.

$100??? For that? No F'n way.....How do you NOT mention that in the auction? Hard to imagine....

Tom Anderson said he would check for any NOS necks, but if he doesn't have one I am just going to leave it for now or bring it in to get fixed. Tech said it actually felt comfortable for him, but they would have to replane the board and refret it if I wanted to get it fixed. It bothered me a lot at first, but after playing for a few hours its not horrible and I can live with it after working out a deal with the seller who was very cool. He told me he'd take the guitar back and give me a full refund, but I wanted to keep it and agreed to a $350 partial refund. So after all that I got it for $1189.

Does the guy who did that still have his hands? If so, there's a problem.

If it can be fixed so you can live with it that's a killer deal.

Yeah maybe best deal ever on a 2 bolt neck TA. I'm to shitty to even access those lower frets anyhow. I only play in the top 7 and if I'm feeling froggy I make my way down to the 9th.

My original plan for this guitar was to get it refinished by marty bell in a sparkle orange or red but we will see what pans out with the neck.

Anyone had a guitar refinished by Marty Bell? I never get a response anytime I email him through his website.

Yup. He's done great work for me several times...

Well crap I guess I have bad luck getting a hold of him.

I'm thinking this needs a sparkle finish either orange or red.

Also check out GMW guitarworks for refinishing. I just had a body done in HOK candy apple red 0.015" flake. Lee does top notch work.

Got pics?

GMW just refinished this last month for me. You have to catch the sparkles in the right light. It's basically a replica of Vai's Crossroads guitar.

Lee ran a special in May-June for $250 (plus the cost of shipping back to me). I think normally it's $275 or $300. Check out his site at:
https://www.facebook.com/GmwGuitarWorks

He'll get back to you promptly. He'll also provide tons of samples of different size and styles of "flakes". He's been building and refinishing for decades.
