Is This Now A Bit Too Much?

That looks like a guitar from a post apocalyptic world...way over done.

Like I've said before, I hope this trend hits the car market, so I can add a premium for rust / dents when I sell mine.

Rat Rods have been around for a while. VW guys like to rust the hood intentionally. Street fighter bikes who took off all the cladding from sport bikes because they kept breaking it. There are similar trends out there.

It's completely unrealistic, unless it was dragged behind a truck for a couple miles.

I agree with the rest of you, this is just TOO MUCH.

I can generally appreciate a little bit of "tasteful" relic'ing, but it is very easy to go overboard if you don't step away from a relic job and come back later, with a fresh perspective. Which is sort of what this reminds me of, begin with some light relic'ing.......and then just obsessing over it for an hour, until this is the guitar sitting in front of you.

Good point.

I bought these relic'd jeans. The salesman told me they looked hot.
Thoughts?

Dont take me serious on this. I laugh at everything. Life is a fun time. Enjoy it. Live it and laugh.
Fuck all the serious peeps. :D

I don't like relic'd guitar , and this one is way over done . Those relic'd jeans are hilarious .

If this relic'd trend moves to men's faces, I am soooo in.

I think relicing a suhr makes no sense let alone a modern. I like my CS tele I got used but that was a closet classic (basically no wear) but it has worn naturally a bit due to the thin nitro. I don't really get the appeal of heavy relicing at all, let alone on a guitar like in the OP.

I prefer to do relicing the old fashioned way, by playing the crap out of the guitar. Any wear is from that.
