Is this the Joe Holmes pickup?

I found this today when I was digging through a box of junk:



It came out of an 80s Japanese Charvel and measures 15.65k. Is this the infamous Joe Holmes pickup?

pretty hard to tell really, jackson used a few different PUps in the import models ... doesn't look like there have been any stickers on it so that might be a good sign

No. The Jackson J-80 is the Joe Holmes one. It would have one row of screws and one row of slugs and measure in the 13k range.

All 3 of mine have J-80 stamped/stickered on the back

I think it is probably a J90 of some sort. Not sure what is up with the ones that have two rows of slugs. I have heard some of the later "made in USA" ones were not actually made here. Maybe at the very end they were trying to use everything up, who knows.

A proper USA J80 reads in the 13k range like chubtone said.
