I have a Herbert and I'm using a TC G-Major-2 for FX. What is the best way to hook up the Pro Rack G? I ran this on the RT section and was told to hook the ISP into the serial loop run the G-major send to the switchable loop and run the return to the parallel loop. Dont I need to use the Kill-Dry funtion on the G-Major for that? Thanks for any help. I dont want to use the kill-dry because it hurts the sound of the rest of the FX in the G-M.

Hi Gbsmusic

Your Pro Rack G into the serial loop and the G-Major into the switchable loop (wich is a serial loop).
This way the G-major will only be in your loop when you switch on the switchable loop. And when you don't use your FX you switch the loop off so the G-major doesn't effect your sound.

try putting the parellel loop on full mix - so it is effect, a serial loop.

Keep in mind that the switchable loop comes BEFORE the serial loop.
So every effect will go first through the G-M and then to the Decimator...

To me they would make more sense the other way around, but Peter will have his reasons ;)

Does anyone have a set up like mine and how are you running it?

I have the exact set up as you and tried lots of diffent ways..
The best set up so far has been to run both in the serial loop with the decimator first, then to the g -major.
If you put the decimator after the g-major the delay effect gets messed with.
The g-major is dead silent and doesn't effect the tone of the amp at all that I can tell so there is no need to put it before the decimator.

Getting the sensitivity set on the decimator took a little fooling around but now that I've got it dialed I can't imagine not having it.

I stopped using the ISP.

I only needed it when I used the boost out front, but I don't use it much any more.

i had the delay cutting off problem using the serial loop for my ISP and the switchable for my FX.....i guess im going to have to try putting everything in the serial loop...its just annoying to have to deal with the converted sound of the FX unit...unless the bypass mode is true bypass, In my case its a rocktron xpression. but this is a serious problem i've been trying to deal with!
