So,

Those that have used both or have sufficient knowledge. I haven't had a chance to try the rig with just the G system noise gate in tact and no ISP.

Just curious if its much better, comparable or not worth my time rehooking my chain.

I've used the G-Major before, it did an ok job, but still needed a pedal to get rid of the feedback from the pickups if I'm standing in front of my cab in a live situation.

Anyone have some helpful input?

Haven't used G-System before but I can speak for ISP.
I've used ProRack G and I have the first version (not the g string) pedal now. Both units kick so much ass! Super quiet and none of the sustain is gone. Tone isn't changed either. What else can I say?

Word.
And im selling mine now if anyone wants one
I wont be needing it anymore. Not using noisy pedals anymore

I love mine so far when it comes to some high gain preamps.. quick question

If I am using it both in the front after pedals and in the loop, which channel should I be doing most of the gate on if the preamp is the source of some of the noise?

I think my question was misunderstood.

I have the ISP Pro Rack G and the G System. I was curious if the G-systems noise gate was good enough that I could sell the ISP cause it was way overkill, or if the ISP is a better unit being a two channel Noise machine.

I dont have my main rig setup, so I can't A/B them, but was curious if anyone had any information/experience on that.

I use the noisegate in my g major and it is at least adequate. However I've been tossing around the idea of getting a decimator rack unit.

i use both, i believe its better to have and not need than to need and not have. there is some bad hum in alot of venues out there fellas.

I agree on the hum. I guess I was just wondering how good it was and if I could sell the ISP to help fund the purchase. I figured it was slightly better than the g major or at least equal to it, but I'd still need one up front to silence the feedback...of course I could sell for the pedal version as it would just sit in my rack on a tray anyway...

I use both:

I have my iSP on the whole time, set at the minimal settings required to keep the rig silent with my hand muting the strings.
The G-system gate is bypassed on most of my patches, but I have some with the g-sys gate set as fast as possible, to get ridiculously tight rhythm sounds.
So basically, I use the iSP as a noise reducer, and the g-sys as a noise gate when needed.

I have the g-sys turned off as well. Was just curious if I could get away without it or not, guess i'll have to check my own mileage on that one. I dont run rediculous gain, but you never know. Thanks.
