Got a friend who SWEARS by them, but he lives 5 hours away, so trying one out may be hard. I've never really looked into them before, looked on their site, seems to be quite a few different models, anyone have any experience with them?

Yes. I don't think the ISP subs are intended to cover that range though, just augment it.

Ah i see, so more of a accent on the low-mids to make a bigger overall sound?

I wonder how much difference there is between the subs and say a EVM Black Label in a theile cab?

I use to run a 2x10 bass cab with an acoustic and it was amazing. There are no rules.

interesting..... hmm.

not sure if they would be for me, I'm not real into down tuning, I'm usually in standard and drop D, how do they sound like that?

I've jumped out of ultra low tuning to D Standard for 3 of my guitars and C Standard for 2. Sounds awesome as always. It's an integral part of my rig. Refuse to not use it...... besides Steve Luke doesn't down tune I believe....

Well you don't have a crossover in the theile? I don't know what that is...a theile......

It's crossover separation.............more clarity.......cleaner headroom.......bigger sound with satellite cabs from the sub.....think of a miked guitar sound......along those lines....

call the dudes at isp and talk to them. i did a couple years ago and they were cool as hell. i was going to get a theta cab built. pretty informative.

Yeah ask for Buck. He's awesome and knows the Vector subs inside and out....

the 600 watt 15 inch isp sub is one of the best things i ever bought for my rig.

juggs hears me swear by it all the time. can't suggest this piece of gear enough.

a lot of people have a lot of misconceptions about it. until you try one, you won't understand. the only way to describe it is "full 3-d type sound." yeah, it adds bottom end. but what i think it really does is tighten up your bass since it eliminates the ultra low end from flexing your 12 inch speakers. that's one of the things that causes a "muddy" or "flabby" guitar sound.

yes, guitar is a midrange instrument. yes, bass is a bottom frequency instrument. but both bass and guitar use each others frequencies all the time. it's all about HOW you share those frequencies.

would i record with one? no. a good 4x12 cab mic'ed properly and correct e.q. at the board is all most of us need. but live, i would never be without my isp sub. once you try one you will understand.

Gathering from videos/clips, yes, much fuller low-end in general.. However, I have never played through one so I cannot comment really. :D

Ooh.. dude.. talk to Gxrbusa. He has two of them, and an aweosme amp collection.

I'm really gassing for something like a 212+115 cab or a 212 and 2x15 full stack configuration. Not to have BR00TZ low end, just to have a nice, full lower midrange with some nice percussive lows to it. :)
