It had to be done! (Beware: 80s butt rock Charvel content)

I see what you did there, Steve. Looks great!

What do you think of the neck on the white one? I played that guitar a few times...my main thought - BEEFY!! Lynch would dig it...

I have been a Charvel fan since day one but I could never and I mean Never get those old brass block Trems to stay in tune!

I know a lot of guys still like the look but I would never Buy a Charvel with the old school block and If I did, it would get a floyd not more then 10 minutes after buying it hahahaha!

looks Killer!!

Looks great. How do you like the titanium floyd tone wise?

add a 22nd fret next ;)

O my god. Really man?

I know you strat guys see fighting with a vintage trem as a badge of honor and when I see it done right, I'm amazed by it. However, I am like Steve. If I'm playing a super strat and want to go crazy with the trem bar, I can't keep the damn vintage ones in tune.

On my vintage style strats, I leave the stock trems, I'm just afraid of them, like they are some sort of land mine about to go off if I do anything wrong.

And I'll tell you with the way Steve's guitar resonated after the Floyd install I think it is safe to say that he just improved the tone and playability of his guitar. I have never heard any electric guitar that was that loud acoustically and it just rang and rang and rang.

I'm thinking about a titanium block for one of my Floyd guitars after hearing that thing. I think I have a good source for very affordable (for titanium) blocks.

I forgot to mention that I have a good story about the original Charvel Block tuning (well at least I think its a good story hahaha)

Back in the 80's after getting my Charvel with the Original trem, I could not get that fucker to stay in tune. I read all the mags, used pencil lead in the nut slots had tech after tech look at it................No one could get that guitar to stay in tune.

One day at another music store I made a comment about my guitar not being able to stay in tune and I got a smug remark from some fat guy in the corner saying that it was my fault and I just didn't know how to set it up. I looked at him and said, well Ive taken it to the best techs that I know and they are at a loss as well and they all recommended a Floyd or kahler. He said, well you didn't take it to me and of course I said, well, who are you? He gave me his name and this huge amount of BS about how he was the best tech in NY. There were others in the store that said that he was the best, so I said Ok God, If you can get this guitar to stay in tune I'll pay you double your price and if you can't I walk free of charge and I get the right to tell everyone how full of shit you are (Yes, he rubbed me the wrong way and I was pissed)

He then said well of course you will have to learn how to play a certain way in order to keep in tune and as soon as he said that, I knew that he had just read the EVH article hahahaha! I said, I know all the tricks of how I'm supposed to yank the bar back after a dive bomb but it still doesn work, do we have a deal or not?

The deal was struck and I brought him my guitar. Forward a week later, I go and pick up the guitar and not only did it NOT STAY in tune, you could shoot an arrow off of the neck the action was so high. Of course I shoot him the WTF look and he tells me that real men play with action that high and that I still don't know how to play the guitar in order to keep it in tune. I look at him straight in the eyes and handed him the guitar and said show me how a real man plays and lets see you keep the guitar in tune.
Needless to say he sucked as a player and I don't say that EVER and the guitar did not stay in tune for him either. My end comment was what's your excuse now or are your ears so messed up that you can't hear that the guitar is out of tune. :hys:

I walked out of the store mumbling every curse word you could mention and I went straight to another store and had a kahler installed (another mistake I know hahaha!) and had the action put back to pussy player levels hahahaha!

Both of those are sweet. Love the vintage vibe, with the creme pups. They look like they are killer players.

Awesome, both of 'em! The blue one now needs chrome hardware to go better! I never liked Charvels with gold never-in-tune trems and tuners!

You spent a fortune on that trem, is it better than a vintage 80's Floyd?

If you don't mind me asking who did the work and what did they charge? Not the price of the ti floyd just the install. Have they done other work for you? Cali? I have a wolfgang that needs help and a strat that needs a floyd installed.
Aloha, Rob.

Oh and was your clip the cherry bomb?
