My cousin is an alcoholic and has lost his wife, family and house.
He’s hanging on to his job by a thin string.
It’s a real shame, he’s turned into a complete blabbering idiot, uncontrollable.

Stick with it and continue to support him as best you can. Maybe make sure he stays off the internet. I think that just distracts anyone trying to beat a problem and they fall off the wagon pretty easily.

He spends way too much time online, making an idiot of himself. He’s a guitar player although not very good, he’s into amp modellers and fights with everyone when he’s pissed.
He’s been banned from countless music forums. He’s very sick.
It’s always ‘other peoples fault’

Wow. Sounds like his issues go far deeper than alcohol. At the core, he probably knows he’s failed his family and is looking to restore his self esteem by asserting his superior knowledge of gear online. From the outside, it probably seems pretty pathetic though.
There’s always hope.
