I've stated my relationship with Krank a half a dozen times here, yet you still call me a liar.
So, here goes, one more time for the record, in great detail:
I bought my Revolution Series One, #DB1020, used, just over two years ago. At that time I decided to re-tube it, and have it looked over. So I took it to the place that has done all the repairs that I can't handle for the past 22 years, M-Troniks in Mesa, AZ. I work about a mile away. Across the street from M-Troniks is Milano Music, and right next door to M-Troniks is Linton-Milano Pianos....
M-Troniks started inside of Milano Music, they eventually outgrew their spot in the back, and became a warranty repair center where virtually all the music dealers in the Phoenix area send warranty repairs of many brands of amps and PA stuff. I've been buying gear at Milano's also for 22 years, and they really take care of me well. They are one of the largest Peavey dealers out West, and when I was playing all Peavey gear they hooked me up with Peavey, etc.
Anyways, way back when, M-troniks was two people, the former owner, Mike Mularavich and his tech, Patrick Flanagan. When I took my Rev in to Mike, he told me to take it to Krank, because they were right in Tempe, actually very close to the Tempe/Phoenix border. So I emailed Krank and the tech was real nice and actually set up an appointment time for me to bring it in. So when I brought it in, guess who the tech is? It's Patrick from M-Troniks! So I know this guy for like 20 years but did not know where he went after M-Troniks...
Also turns out that Tony Dow (Tony Krank) is good buddies with another friend of mine, Lytle Rieffer, (Creature Studios, Fender "Guitar Teacher of the Decade" award). I've known Lytle and his wife and kids for about 15 years. When his daughter was in one of my bands, I did some small vocal parts on a Carvin Jones CD a couple years ago that was recorded there. Pat repairs Carvin's stuff at his house...
Anyways, it just turned out to be a very small world. I do not now nor ever have worked for Krank. I pay for all my Krank gear and service, just like anyone else. I don't receive any commission or gear or compensation from Krank.
The truth is their customer service is awesome, the company has a bunch of great people working for it and they will do anything to make sure you are happy with your Krank gear. Tony is very careful about using quality components in the pedals and amps and stuff. I once watched him make the decision to hold up production on a long awaited product when it was discovered a vendor supplied a component that was not up to his specs.
If you don't want to believe me, then ask Thump. Ask him about his Distortus Maximus, how he got it and what he thinks of Krank pedals....
