Tri-Boost from buildyourownclone.com - you'll have around $100 in it, can build it yourself and will have *three* great boosts built into one box. I love mine.

I really like my Baja Boost from baja tech. Cheap, sounds a lot like an old rangemaster.

I've tried a bunch but my favorite boost is my TC Electronics 1140 Parametric EQ. Just set flat you can add as much gain as you want without loosing any tone. And of course you can then tweak it anyway you want from there.

Been using rack gear since the '90s. In my pedal days, I used an MXR Micro Amp. I had some compressor too, though I can't remember what it was? (I had just about everything from EH, pre-1980 '70s vintage what's left are probably rusted away in my parents basement!

From EH, I had treble boosters, both the Screaming Tree and the smaller Screaming Bird.

May be worth a look?

My favourite booster is the kind I never need to use. I never want to boost any of my amps again.

Why not?
I've done it for years, but have an amp now that simply doesn't need it. So I can't go back. I guess I'm past having to resort to using a pedal to achieve satisfying tones, response, tightness or clarity. If i need on with an amp, then I don't want that amp.
Now, I won't turn down a deal on an old Marshall though if I think it would scream with a boosted front end. But I wouldn't buy a new amp that needed a boost. Just my opinion.

For me it really depends on the amp as to what boost pedal I recommend, but I really like my Maxon OD-9, Zendrive, and Timmy.

The only pedal that has stayed on my board for boosting purposes, as well as occasional drive, is the MI Audio Blues Pro. It's got a great boost to it and it adds a little bit of bottom for leads and really adds girth for meaty rhythm parts.

Wow........I think I counted 21 different people that used something different so far.......crazy...

Yup, it's like "What's your favorite ice cream?" Everyone has their own preference, and there's always at least one guy who's gotta tell you you're wrong cuz you like mint chocolate chip. :aww: :scared:

I think you have this place confused with TGP.  Fact is the difference is negligible. If you can get under the hood and do your own tweaking by all means do so and save yourself the $$$.
