I own the step below that one. That is a 550XL. I own a 475XL special in a rare desert crackle colour - the special means it came factory with active pickups and a mid boost board. I also dont have the cut-away or 24 frets.
The neck shape is a modern C which is really close to caparisons and ESP's.
Tone wise it is a great guitar but by no means custom shop fender/TA/Suhr/ESP standard worthy.
Mine dates to 1988 - they are worth ~500-550 if MIJ and have the original chainsaw case, but worth less if MIK (and even less without a case) which were the later models and on up into the early 90's. If it is MIK then you're looking at 350-400 tops without a case. Do some research on paint colours too - there are some models out there that are worth more due to the paint scheme - some are in more demand than others.
