More of a studio guy...does a bunch of TV and Movie stuff, I believe.

He had 2 solo CD's out in the 90's that were pretty decent. Great playing at least.. gotta break 'em out to see how the songs/composition was

Dude, that was my favorite movie for years! I switched from skateboarding to in-line because of that movie. I was never any good though. Wasn't the big race down Devil's Backbone f'n badass??!   Oh, and yeah always loved that tune. I always thought it was Satch for some reason.

I never heard of this guy either until now. I have been listening to him at work since reading this, and damn, a killer player indeed!

so cal folks may remember when he was in toy matinee, and they used to do live performances on the Mark and Brian radio show

Kevin Gilbert and Mark Bonilla used to just blaze, and they did a killer spaghetti cowboy tune called El Paso and a ridiculously awesome medley of classic rock tunes jammed together like don't look back, aint talkin bout love, playing one bar from one song here, one bar there

here's a link to kevin and mark jamming a live acoustic version of toy matinee's hit "last train out" and some other tunes (music starts at 6:40 ish with some guitar ripping at about the 8;30 mark))

i really connected to kevin's music and he was an amazing lyricist. his "thud" cd is a classic, and it is worth researching his life on the web.

his story was a tragic musical genius who never got the attention he deserved and his relationship with sheryl crow was sad.

I know, fruity right?  Don't worry, I played street hockey and jumped off huge drops and cool stuff. Only wore a speedo on rare occasion. ;)

broseph smith,

that's like saying me and tommy lasorda rock a mean syncronized swimming routine

imagine pressing this lobster claw into your face as you execute the lift, with only a wet chrome speedo spilling over with hair, sparing you from being gobbled up by his magnanamous loin octopi

I have that cd...got it as a free promo back in the early 90's. Great player who wrote cool tunes...a bit "deeper" than a lot of the solo shred albums being released around that time. IIRC he was a lefty.

Dude, I was like 11 years old.

He was a great player that got overshadowed by Vai and Satch pretty much.

Jack Black: Did you just call me a piece of lady's underwear?

Slight OT here and no offence by any means, but every single time I log in to RT with my mobile I read the name of this thread wrong: I've been a whore my life  . Something Freudian there I guess.

Nice tune there regardless!
