When I listen to any plugin versus the fryette gpdi/ IR there is no comparison. The fryette sounds way better. It sounds like an amp cause it is. Amplitude. Tonex, nano have all been in my studio. I've like them but they all sound the same and sound funny to my ears.

I only will be using the fryette.

When I try other people’s or Tonex captures, yes they sound not that great. The captures I made of mine, sound very good. Still prefer my amps. Been thinking of the GP/DI IR for awhile.

By the way, what's the black overdrive with that deluxe Reverb and the power station?

It is the 1981 DRV pedal. Been liking it alot. They modded a Rat. Normally the 1981 is setup for mild distortion with an OD in front of it. With the Deluxe on ten, can use either pedal alone and it is plenty.

I am surprised that setup sounds good. Running the amp into the power station and using the Power Station to power the speaker.

I agree that you should make your own captures for ToneX of the Freyette. That will probably be closer than any other digital solution.

I think when I played into an Axe Fx, Helix and Boss 1000...... Yeah I was impressed.... And was like this is the end of tubes....

But as time went on I mean as advanced as more advanced as they are now than ever before..... The hype is over.

Yeah and there ain't nothing like the real deal.

Amplifiers were designed for amplification, not imitation. Trying to capture the loud to make quiet seems futile.

The preamp and power amp sims are great. I’ve had cabs turned off running into a fryette power station and then a 2x12 cab in the room. It’s about the best of both worlds. To record I can simultaneously run out of a different output in the helix and add a cab sim or IR direct.

Tube amps do have the extra last few % of magic in them, but this setup is pretty tits for variety and cost.
