I LOVE both bands, but page does not shit all over clapton. Period. Show me anything page ever did lead-wise that compares to cream-era clapton.

Especially live.

I'm talking songwriting

I realize Zep did a good deal of thievery, but nothing of Clapton's has ever moved me near as much as Page's stuff

Even then, I'd take Cream and Clapton over Zep and Page any day. IMHO

Interesting, b/c usually when someone says someone "shits all over" someone they're not talking about songwriting :poke:

But I agree zep's songs are better.

Clapton = Boring and Overated IMO
Page = Drunken Monkey Style

Blackmore = Shits all over and owns the both of them!

well I've used it both ways, but I'd take Page in an overall sense. Clapton might be a better player from a skill/technique standpoint, but when most of his work kinda bores me I have to take Page - who was one of my main influences to start playing guitar.

also, to Slaytallica - Blackmore wins the contest skill wise, but I like Page's music better :o
Deep Purple needed to lay off the fucking keyboards :gethim:
I like Rainbow better I think

:hys:

I like Rainbow better also.

Love Zep but IMO I dug Sabbath a hell of a lot more. Both have my love though.

so will myles kennedy be singing for zep until plant feels like touring?

Kennedy prolly sounds better than plant does these days anyway.

here is one, since Ive been loving you, thats pretty cool,

Dude the Solo from Stairway To Heaven pretty bad ass for the times!!

page is the reason I picked up a guitar, so I'm biased. old fuckers rant sounds like envy to me.

the best member of the band is dead-WTF is up with that comment?

I was never a big fan of Clapton. I like the Cream stuff but i always thought as a guitar player that Clapton was really overrated. Strictly talking about guitar, Hendrix and Beck both were miles beyond Clapton, and SRV walked circles around Clapton when it comes to raw blues.

I think of Clapton as more a songwriter/singer who happens to play guitar.

And I'd rather listen to Dazed And Confused or War Pigs instead of shit like Lay Down Sally.

+1000 Clapton is overrated as a guitarist.

Zep has 7 songs I like. Sabbath however is my favorite.

1) yes Deep Purple Needed to lay off the goddamn keys.

2) ZEP is great

3) Cream is great

4) Clapton and Bruce and Baker's Improve skills are unrivaled

its all awsome shit!!. but i would rather go back to around 73' and just sit and listen to Iommi wank on his axe by himself that anyone. Also if you notice, if you were to remove the vocals from the first sabbath album most of it could be a Zep album.

I did not see the Zep reunion but i thought the 05 cream one was phenomenal. i was however annoyed with clapton using a strat and fender tweeds.
