Hey guys this is Brad Jackson with Jackson Ampworks. I've been a member of the Huge Racks and Gear Page forums for years but Rob at Tone Merchants recommended that I join here. I've been reading the forum tonight and it looks like a great place to be.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys better in the future.

All the best.

Welcome. I'm a fellow solder sniffer, I checked out your site briefly, clean work and classy styling.

Cool stuff, welcome to the RT.

Thanks for the kind words guys! :)

In case you were wondering what's going on now with Jackson Ampworks, I just hooked up with Robbie McIntosh for the John Mayer: Battle Studies world tour. Robbie will be playing two of my new amps as well as two of my 2x12 Wave cabinets. Here is the run down on this new amp.

There is no information on my web site about this amp yet since I'm updating the site this week. I figured I could just post it here if ya'll were interested until the web site is current.

I contacted Robbie a couple weeks ago and sent him an amp this week so he could play it with John during the rehearsals for their world tour and from talking to him he's in love with the amp! Here are a few pics of the amps as well as the spec sheet on it!

Here's a video of my brother-in-law demoing the amp. This is the actual amp that Robbie has with him now.

Here is a run down the amp and it’s features:

The version 2.0 of the Britain is now a two channel amplifier with 2 inputs. Input one feeds both channels to you can use each channels volume controls to blend the two channels. Plugging into channel two breaks the internal connection between the two channels and allows you to use an ABY switch and select either channel 1, 2 or both.

Channel 1 (Volume Treble Bass) is the same EF86 channel as the original Britain with Volume, Treble and Bass controls. Channel one also has a foot-switchable boost mode that bypasses the tone controls and bumps the output substantially making for a great overdriven tone and solo boost.

Channel 2 (Volume Treble Bass) is a 12AX7 powered preamp that delivers sparkling clean tones that compliment the first channel perfectly. Blending these two channels will allow you to dial in a perfect blend of sparkling clean tones from channel 2 and more edgy overdriven tones from channel 1.

In addition to making the amp a two channel amp, I have also included a very unique power switch that allows the amp to go from 50W Fixed Biased Class A/B to 15W Cathode Biased Class A! In the 50W mode the amp will be extremely punchy with incredibly fast response and articulation. In 15W mode the volume with drop about 6dB and the feel of the amp will become much more compressed and organic. I also included a circuit in the Class A mode that simulates exactly the tonal response of the 5U4G rectifier tube which is what gives the Class A mode its incredible touch response and natural compression.

The Britain’s standard features include:

- Mullard EL34 Output Tubes
- Tung Sol EF86 Preamp Tube (Channel 1)
- Tung Sol 12AX7 Preamp Tubes (Channel 2)
- Tung Sol 12AX7 Phase Inverter
- 4-8-16 Ohm Impedance Selector
- Laser Cut Chassis
- Stainless Steel Hardware
- Clarostat 2W Sealed Conductive Plastic Potentiometers
- Silver Plated Teflon Wire
- 4” High Flow Output Tube Cooling Fan
- Custom Wound Heyboer Transformers
- Precision Cut and Drilled Turret Boards
- Handwired G10 Fiberglass Turret Board
- Stainless Steel Front and Back Face Plates
- Central Point Grounding with Star Ground
- Distributed Power Supply
- Gold Plated Ceramic Tube Sockets
- Mallory 150 Coupling Capacitors
- JJ Filter Caps
- Heavy Duty Carling Switches
- 1W 5% Carbon Comp and Carbon Film Resistors
- Genuine Switchcraft Jacks for Input and Speaker Connections

In addition to these features, I have implemented a Filtered Power Entry Module with an integrated fuse holder and a 120/240 Voltage Selector. This module with filter out noisy AC and make the amp as quiet as possible and also allow you to use the amp worldwide without having to worry about varying line voltages.

Of all the features, perhaps most impressive of all is that the amp has gone from 21” wide to 13.5” wide and from 48lbs down to 30lbs!! The amp will fit in a backpack for the ultimate in portability!

The amp will sell direct for the introductory price of $1,500.00 which is $1,00.00 less than the original Britain’s price of $2,500.00! I having been working hard for the past year to streamline my operations here to allow me to drop my prices while at the same time maintaining the EXACT same level of quality that I have established in the market.

Hope you enjoy guys! Email me if you have any questions!

Thanks bunghole! (never thought I'd ever say that!)

Regarding the name I guess you can't pick your own name. :) I've been around since 2003 with no problems surrounding the name. Let's hope it continues that way!

Nice to meet you man, fellow Texan here. Damn your amps sound and look cool. I wish I could afford one of them but I'll have to wait until I get into a higher pay range!

Man I'd like to get my hands on a 50w Britain. Looks like a great amp and I love the bias controls on the back.

The Britain on the web site has been replaced by the Britain 2.0 shown here. The price dropped from 2500 to 1500. How does that sit with you? Also the amp has two channels and is now 18W Class A and 50W Class AB. Pretty good bang for the buck...at least that's what I'm going for! :)

Welcome dude! Nice amps for sure! Just a word of advise, keep your shipping receipts handy and ready to post at a moments notice.
