Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: Jackson Soloist Jr - vintage MIJ short-scale soloist
One of the gems of the early 90s Chushin Gakki factory, known for the "professional!" series of Jackson instruments. This is a highest tier model with neck-thru, binding, pitch black ebony board, mop inlays and logo. What sets this apart from the rest of the Jackson soloist catalog, both old and new, is the 24.75" scale. If you prefer short scale shredders like the nightswan or original warriors, this is the guitar for you! It also features an HS pickup configuration which is otherwise only done on custom order soloists. The pickups have been replaced -- the neck is an EMG, and the bridge appears to be a Duncan, so likely both better than the stock pickups.
Condition-wise, this one is in fundamentally pretty good shape, but has also been neglected and could use a couple hours of restoration. There is a small chip on the headstock, two thin cracks in the clearcoat near the controls, and some chips in the paint on the rear of the guitar, top edge. The less permanent issues are that the frets are a bit worn and tarnished, with more wear along the higher frets and the strings are not sliding super smoothly when fretting ~20-24 (there is no fretting out though). There is wear to the finish on the area of the bridge where the palm rests, some mottling/grime on the hardware. The bridge pickup should have foam placed under it, as it can tilt backwards a bit. The electronics can be a bit noisy while moving, and the battery for the preamp and EMG doesn't have a battery clip (I have padded it with bubble wrap so it stays in place). These later things are pretty easy fixes, but I'm a bit preoccupied with other projects at the moment so listing it as is and have factored the work into the price.
I can ship worldwide. There is no case or gigbag for this guitar, but if I have an extra vintage gigbag at the time of purchase I'd be happy to include it.
Just to add to my old Reverb post, basically an awesome HS soloist -- I think of it as like a weird hybrid of a soloist, a horizon, and short scale. It's got some wear but still a killer guitar and really unique platform. I'd also be game for amp trades (big list in the IIC+ coli thread)
