I might have one of the XLS1000 saved on my hard drive, i can have a look for you..

Whats wrong with the amp?
 
Besides a fucked up "more" pot it hums too much, although everything seems to be fine. I don't hope its one of the numerous optos.

Olaf,

Has that amp had the heater mod done to it? Theres a yellow wire with a molex connector that is connected to the heaters.. Lee had a lot of those amps back in the shop for repair because that connector would cause problems. It just needs the wire with the connector removing, and replace with a new wire and solder it in instead of using the connector.

I have a Lee Jackson servicing clip for that amp where he shows what i mean, if you want it? PM me your email :thumbsup:
 
search for lee jackson or metaltronix.. he has a discussion board

i msg'd him about the molex thing. he checks the board and will answer your questions

Does the M has a "more" pot too? Could you have a look what value his pot has. Its labelled "strange" and since its fucked, I cannot measure it anymore. My guess is 1M or 500k, but I'm not sure, you know. Its a kind of second gain pot (interstage me thinks), so 500k seems reasonable . . .

The M-1000 has like two gain pots, both of which are 1M log
 
1 M works (of course).
Not sure if its "in a good way" though.

Oh, amp is running again, hums in the clean channel, pot works (crunch channel), not sure if its range is like "stock", you know.
