Do you still offer/build this preamp out of curiosity?
Yup, now with three full channels and midi though. This was a proto to find a good crunch and a good lead channel. I've added a clean and midi later and converted it to PCB.

Well you certainly did that!

one last bump for updated pics and a test-vid from yesterday

Unbelievable tone. It boggles my mind. Aren't people beating down your door to make amps for them?

That sounds really good Olaf ! From memory I think that's pretty close to the JS tone which must be what you're after, no ?

Your playing-skills also seem to have improved btw...

very nice olaf. just got around to checking it out. if i had an amp that sounded like that right out of the box i could throw a couple of mine away.  on a related note the hard rock band i'm in is working up a version of "whiskey in a jar". i'd like the singer to be able to do phil's acoustic part while i do bell's.

Your amps get cooler and cooler each time, Olaf. Really great stuff! I mainly play death metal these days, but I'd love to have one of those for just rocking out.

Thanks Lance.

Here's a new one - I had to update the PCB and I think it sounds not that bad now.

If you want to skip the mindless high gain drop stuff, skip to minute 2 (2nd channel) or minute 3 (clean with an open-G Strat)

Olaf

Sounds great too me
What tubes are in that amp
Is this similar to the kmp pre voicings

Thanks guys.

Tubes are chinese EL34s and 5 ECC83.
First and second channel are identical (if you skip the output tube of the preamp and the loop/PI of the full amp). The third channel in J'ampli has 4 gainstages, in the preamp 5 of them.

have you tried the Kt77's in any of your builds and if so how does it differ .Is it more 6l6 sounding?

I've used KT77 often in several amps and like them a lot.
They are more into EL34 direction than into
6L6 and can really handle a lot. Additionally
those JJs last very long, IMO much longer
than most modern pwr tubes. They are also
Diezels choice for a long time which IMO
is a good indicator for quality and sound
