Because of the lower wattage? The mesa tech says if they aren't redplating, They would be okay. Since they are a military spec, they are supposed to be more durable, right?

In an amp that has what....(9 )12ax7 preamp tubes ( I forget how many mine had exactly).....it seems like a waste of money to buy vintage or N.O.S power tubes. Unlike say a vintage marshall amp.
They are more durable than cp tubes, for sure, but is it worth the expense? That is up to you. If you are going through mesa tubes rapidly...then it might be worth it, but, you really shouldn't be going through too many mesa power tubes in a Mark V.

I already have said tubes. I have a few other boutique amps to use them in. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried them in a Mark V. I just did.... I is a tad bit quieter. The bottom does seem a bit tighter too. I'll see if they live in there for a while, or if I push them harder into breakup in a single channel amp. Thanks for the opinions.

Try it.
Try them in an amp with less preamp tubes......and you will see bigger rewards imho.
